    Sen. Joe Manchin III (W.Va.) is calling on Joe Biden to step aside as the Democratic nominee for president.

    “It’s time to pass the torch to a new generation,” Manchin, who recently switched his party affiliation from Democrat to independent, said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

    He is calling for an open primary on the Democratic side rather than getting behind Vice President Harris. Earlier this year, Manchin declined to run for president as an independent.

    I think an open convention is the way to go.
    Democrats have to find some just I little more popular than Joe, and it's a race again.
    Remember 40% of this country would elect a ham sandwich before voting for Trump

    There is a lot of time between now and November.

    Plus an open convention is must see TV.

    I think Lincoln came from an open republican
    Convention.
    Might be wrong.

    I feel the opposite. People didn't vote for Kamala as president, Biden should have done this before the primary, and the Democratic party should have encouraged a REAL primary instead of trying to scare everybody off and hand it to Joe. I don't know what happens now, but just about anything is going to feel undemocratic, IMO.
