Is frat boy networking a better method of finding corporate leaders? We first have to erase the notion that corporate executive is a technical knowledge job. There is no one human that is "best qualifed". Usually the human that has the best networking of knowing the right people is how they end up in corporate gigs. It never is "the most qualified human ever" situation. That is some fantasy land you live in.
I patiently waited for the Biden administration to bring normalcy to this country. They proved me wrong yet again. Democrats are complete incompetent fools. This is why I rail against them nonstop. They believe they are superior to everyone else.
@Rocket River Our country as labor issues. When superficial characteristics matter more than merit, you get competence. Its not a difficult concept to understand. If you have a business with 10 white males and one resigns, it makes perfect sense to diversify ONLY IF the replacement candidate qualifies for the job. Placing tokens in the work place is absolutely stupid.
I want you to make a specific claim of a specific job you are seeing this with. Are capitalists trying to not maximize their return on investment and care so much about diversity that they hire unqualified data scientists or electrical engineers? The only aspect I see this type of dei initiative is with non technical gigs like executive positions, marketing positions. None of these positions there exists such thing as a "most qualified human". Because usually those positions are filled with "the human who was the most cool at frat parties" or "human that knows the right people".
Also how do you not see this as typical right wing fascistic type politics? Always blame economic problems on the inclusion of non white males into the economy. That is the go to of western right wing fascism for over a century now. How do you not see it?
Our entire corporate and capitalist class of humans exist through networking and knowing the right people. How is "DEI" or whatever you think is happening is worse for selecting who is engaged of corporate mergers and layoffs?
Every person that is DEI is competent and qualified. Meanwhile . .. incompetent white guys are a dime a dozen and they get hire based on them saying anyone not like them is incompentent and not Qualified and other white people believe them because. . .well they look like them and they would NEVER TELL SUCH A SELF SERVING LIE?!??!!?!?!?! How many plane Crashes had non-white non-males at the helm in the HISTORY OF FLIGHT? Seeing that generally an overwhelming number of those crashes had white men at the helm . . .one COULD conclude they are the most incompetent In fact .. as ANY flight crashed with a woman/person of color at the helm??? Rocket River
This is the type of hires . . .. the Anti DEI folx want Dude went form Carrying Trump's bag to running a dept on a whim . . . . Rocket River
I'm trying to think of individual case studies of a company hiring a unqualified engineer because they were black or a female. Do you have one? Btw, why would someone like you get offended if they labeled you a neo-nazi? Isn't this abject Nazi propaganda? The idea that white people are being oppressed because there are diversity hires? Maybe shareholders and board members would rather chose executives based on diversity rather than a bunch of drunk fail sons with MBAs.
Anyone who has an engineering degree and has dedicated the years to training for the field should be qualified from word go. Same as nurses, HVAC specialists, sommeliers, and so on. Those requiring certifications have already met the standard and should all be on equal footing.
And I’ll ask in this thread is there any evidence that DEI had anything to do with this? This is like when people were blaming the ship striking the Baltimore bridge on DEI with no basis and in fact the pilot of the ship was someone who had been there long since before DEI was an issue.
I would think that programmers are a diverse group to begin with. Might be wrong. This isn't a DEI thing. This is a large mistake by a department thing.
Red-state cities and suburbs are becoming more diverse Growth in Asian, Black and Hispanic communities is transforming cities and suburban counties, especially in red states such as Florida, Indiana and Texas, according to a new Stateline analysis. The presidential swing states of Georgia, Nevada and Pennsylvania also were among the fastest-changing states. Many of the largest changes were driven by Black and Asian migration to cities and suburbs in job-rich red states. The economy is going gangbusters by nearly every national metric, and the availability of jobs outside major cities has become a significant magnet. “We do have jobs here, and all those counties are growing dramatically,” said Lloyd Potter, Texas’ state demographer. Asian, Black and Hispanic residents are moving to suburbs from the city of Dallas, he said, and from California and New York state. Meanwhile, local white populations are aging and diminishing, with more deaths and fewer births. “These are some of the biggest and most significantly growing urban areas in the country, and [the new census data] indicates tremendous diversification in the population. It’s been occurring for some time, but it really seems to have accelerated over the last five years or so,” Potter said. In all but three states and the District of Columbia, the non-white share of the population increased between mid-2020 and mid-2023 with significant growth in Asian, Black and Hispanic communities.
