Not a basketball savant by any means but the way Minnesota was hounding Reed on defense - the Rockets bigs didn’t set any good picks. When your point guard is getting harassed like that, you set a hard pick and get an offensive foul if you have to. Don’t let them bully your guy like that. Would love to see what Reed can do when Steven Adams is setting picks.

Reed still impressed, he's so under control and had some solid defense. Do we still get one more game or no?

Just want to let you all know, all of these excuses you are making for Reed are not going to help him in his NBA career. All of what you saw last night with how players were defending him will be doubled, maybe even tripled when the season starts. It may do him good to start the season off in the league of Gs. That would give him the PT to find his niche in the NBA. Which now doesn't look like PG.

He should practice with the rest of the Rockets. This will be much better for him than going to the G-League immediately. I do feel that he will need to play some games in the G-League though, before playing in the NBA. He's a SG who can pass.

We shouldn't overreact here. RS can't play 30+ minutes at 20 years old. He simply has no lift from game to game.

But give him a 10 to 15-minute role; he'll look much better. Taking a few summer league lumps should give him a lot of motivation to put in more work.

I can see why you get flamed on the regular.

Wait so Nix has not been playing good defense all SL and he may not get minutes during the regular season? Is this what you're saying to me?

Oh and you're right. I was getting flamed all week up until last night when Reed Sheppard put all the flames out with his play. Now you and many others are flamed out.

If Reed gets doubled and tripled every time he steps on the court with an NBA roster around him, he'll average 0 points but be the catalyst of thr greatest offense in NBA history.

Man, you either have very little self awareness or you are just trolling.

Who cares what Nix has been doing in the summer league. I doubt that many people here even watched any SL games other than the Rockets.

The outrageous claim in your post was the last part, that he would get good minutes in the season. There's a reason why the guy is still playing in the SL in his 4th season. Did you know how many minutes he played in the big league last season? 50 total over 15 games. That is an average of 3.3 per game. That kind of amount usually means garbage time. If his defense is really as good as you claim, then his offense must be so bad that he couldn't get to play any meaningful minutes in the big league. Why do you think it will be any different this time other than "he played good defense in the SL"?

Not doubled and tripled but the he will experience double the effects of defense that he experienced last night when the season starts. Last
Theres always a chance things could be different in the league. The thing is he us not totally out of it like some would be. He is still on somebody's radar.
Let's go take Orlando Robinson for instance. He was waived by Miami. Usually people would dismiss him as a bust or whatever but the Rockets and I'm sure other teams were waiting for him to hit the waiver wire and they swooped in a got him. Because he still has some type of value to teams.
These guys dont have to be stars or top bench players. But they can still be valuable as role players. Right now if players like Nix and even Anthony Lamb can contribute to a team by just playing good defense, then good for them.

The Christopher - Ware combo is wreaking tons of havoc....mini Hardon better Clint Capela.

Ware is seeing more minutes as a complimentary player to Bam.

That's along the lines of the point I was making. The fact that the Minnesota defense was keyed in almost exclusively on him means we got a stud. He still managed to drop 20 on them with all that pressure and when he was on the court the game stayed close for the most part. When he left the team looked horrible. Once he starts playing with real talent he's going to look great, especially with Sengun because there is no way defenses are going to go single coverage on him.

I agree that these guys do have a chance. I like Orlando Robinson and hope he makes it. BUT getting a G-league spot is a whole world of difference from getting meaningful minutes on an NBA team. Even if Robinson could get a two-way, he will play in the G-League unless two of our three centers get injured. Nix is also on a two-way. Minny have two veteran PGs in their rotation. And they just drafted a high ceiling player with the 8th pick. Dillingham will definitely get the development priority over Nix.

Yeah instead of Nix, would be seeing Jrue Holiday, White and Jalen Suggs, Dort all over him.
