It is shocking, he is a pedophile, a conman, a convicted felon, a fraud, and has been found guilty of money laundering, defrauding a children's charity, creating a fake university, lying about everything...tried to overthrow our government and people just ignore that he is an evil man. It is shocking the ignorance and magical thinking going on, and most of it spread by social media - people are just lemmings at this point.....sad as our democracy falls to the wayside with a crook like him. And a good man like Biden.....who has done an AMAZING job as President is getting glossed over. Did everyone forget how much of a disaster Trump was in his first run? How 31 of his cabinet members were charged and convicted? The guy is just flat out a crook....and 25% of Americans don't care. DD
lol. Maybe Trump just wants MAGA to mean bring back the 1980s. Which I am actually fine with. Spoiler
Van Jones has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation https://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/media/4781466-trump-rnc-dnc-comparison/ 33 minutes ago Van Jones compares RNC to Obama 2008 convention by Tara Suter 07/19/24 8:59 AM ET Democratic strategist Van Jones compared the 2024 Republican National Convention (RNC), during which former president Trump accepted the GOP nomination for the third time, to the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in 2008 when former President Obama received his party’s nomination. “This spirit that this guy has, you guys think that’s ‘cause he’s drunk, he’s not,” Jones said on CNN late Thursday, referring to fellow panel member Scott Jennings, a Republican strategist. “This whole thing is like this.” “The last time I was in a convention that felt like this was Obama 2008,” Jones later added in a clip highlighted by Mediaite “And just like Obama, Trump is showing at this convention, he has the capacity to alter the composition of the electorate,” Jennings said. Democratic strategist David Axelrod, a former Obama adviser, also said the "difference between 2008 and now is that Obama was actually popular outside of his own party.” Republicans have been in high spirits about their chances to reclaim the White House in November as President Biden has been trailing Trump in recent polling and Democrats are facing questions over whether Biden should exit the 2024 presidential race. According to an average of national polls from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, Trump is leading Biden, 45.4 to 43.3 percent. Jones on Wednesday said it was a “terrible day” for Democrats, noting Biden's COVID-19 diagnosis and last weekend's assassination attempt against Trump. “Today is a terrible day. If you pull back and look at this thing, strength versus weakness, a bullet couldn’t stop Trump. A virus just stopped Biden,” Jones said on CNN. “You’ve got nominees of this party getting their butts kissed. Biden’s getting his butt kicked by his own party. The Democrats are coming apart. The Republicans are coming together. That’s what’s happening. And at some point, this party has to look at the reality of that,” Jones added at the time.
Seeing how Nate (the 538 guy) initially said it was pretty good, then partially retracted that statement before fully retracting it, and how others said it was the worst convention acceptance speech in history, I had to read it. This is worse than Biden's debate performance (i'm biased though, so yall go read it for yourself). ps Clearly, the speechwriter wanted a speech that united, but Trump is Trump and went way off script. There are sections where I have no idea what he's talking about. Read the Transcript of Donald J. Trump’s Convention Speech - The New York Times (nytimes.com)
Former political strategists who become news commentators ... well, they are just colorful. More people should just call a spade a spade. https://www.foxnews.com/media/van-jones-says-democrats-dodged-bullet-tonight-trumps-rnc-speech "Trump dodged a bullet on Saturday and Democrats dodged a bullet tonight," Jones said after Trump's address, in remarks that could have been construed as insensitive given Trump was shot less than a week ago. "That was a mess," Jones said. "That was just a big mess," adding Trump "just couldn't help himself." "He had the whole world in his hands," Jones said of Trump's political upsurge after the assassination attempt. "If he had just stayed with that unity message, he might have caused some problems. He just could not help himself." "Trump took what was the most energetic convention, and he was boring," Jones said. "He took the most disciplined convention, and he was undisciplined." "10 minutes of unity talk off the teleprompter followed by rabid attacks on Nancy Pelosi, on Joe Biden and talking about Hannibal Lecter?" Jones said. "That is not a new Trump." CNN commentator David Axelrod said after the speech that Trump's remarks marked the first positive development for Democrats in weeks, given their disarray and mounting calls to boot Biden off the 2024 ticket. Jones said earlier Thursday that the energy at this week's Republican National Convention was comparable to what he saw when former President Obama was first nominated in 2008.
Kind of like fox doesnt like anything from the left, yet msnbc still tends to tell more of the truth then the fox variety show or any of the far-right nut shows.
