The Trump campaign has already geared towards going after Biden. They have ramping up attacks on Harris but not sure they pivot.

If Biden steps down from the race their most potent attack line of age is gone. They will likely fall back then even more on social
Issues and paint whoever the Democrats run as being “woke”, “open borders” and “weak in crime”. The last one will be interesting if it’s Harris given her history as a prosecutor. What you might see is an attacker as too tough on crime citing her prosecution of black suspects.

Yeah, the playbook is already written. The only "attack" that needs to be focus grouped is whatever dumb nickname Trump is going to use for that person.

Pelosi v. Biden is the best example of how people age differently. Not a good point to be making.

Here's a new bad poll for Biden in Virginia: https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4778304-donald-trump-joe-biden-virginia/

Tim Kaine is leading the GOP nominee by 10 points. Yes, Kaine is an incumbent, but so are Tammy Baldwin in Wisconsin and Bob Casey in Pennsylvania. Biden's horrific polling doesn't seem to be affecting Senate candidates yet, but this is what makes me think that a new nominee would reverse this trend. If close elections are about enthusiasm, these polls show that Biden is dead weight and a new candidate could right the ship.

Very true. There are different kinds of 80 year olds (not that any of them have any business continuing to run for office). Biden shuffles around while Danny Trejo still gets into street fights.

Dead weight is an apt description.

I can't believe Democrats are sleepwalking to their doom.

Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Montana, North Carolina... all in real danger of flipping red in the Senate or Governor's mansions.

That's to say nothing of the House.

Even if Biden somehow wins he is going to be an instant lame duck with a completely hostile Congress and Judiciary.

Somebody has to take the keys away from Grandpa before he drives us all off a cliff.

This is Ginsberg all over again
Didn't step down at the appropriate time . . .

Biden having Covid maybe a soft reboot.
a graceful way for him to step down

But I doubt it . . . .. honestly I cannot help wondering why the hell for these pair of 80 year olds
are trying to maintain power .. . . go home and relax and enjoy the grandkids

If Biden drops due to sickness, expect Astros123 to re-emerge from hiding.

Part of our $1000 bet was that if Biden got sick and couldn't run, the bet was a push.

Kelly is supremely qualified but about as exciting as buttered toast.

He would've presented a hilarious dichotomy with Trump, though.

Democrats are so ****ed they're going to have to keep pulling Democratic Senators and Governors from the Midwest until the end of time in order to keep any elections competitive.

meanwhile 80 year old mick jagger can go out every night and do a 2.5 hour performance where he is constantly dancing and probably runs the equivalent of 5 miles.

paul mccartney is 82 and still tours. ringo is 84 and still tours.

its funny seeing all these rock stars from the 60's who did TONS of drugs back in they day and are more coherent and lively than straight-laced politicians who are the same age as them.

Being a convicted felon doesn't even matter any more either.

I mean really it’s just about being able to literally articulate the principles and policy positions of the party. Mark Kelly would be great but it really doesn’t matter. The only reason Biden isn’t as good of a candidate as any other Democrat is because the guy literally cannot speak at times.

People need to realize beating Trump shouldn’t be this hard. But when you run someone at this age and you have so much right wing propaganda out there turning peoples minds to mud, the ability to communicate is the majority of the job. The party platform is popular enough to win on its own IF people know any it and know about the consequences of the unpopular right wing corrupt fascistic policies of the other side.
