It does seem like they have kind of turned on him ..NBC, Even MSNBC to a certain degree and CNN's coverage of Trump's appearance at the RNC was oddly glowing - strange times that's all I can say
Yeah he won't now for sure. It's over. The election is Trump and I am planning on that. I'll be fine (actually better off) but a lot of people will suffer. You can see the far right posters in celebration mode on this thread haha.
Biden Circle Shrinks as Democrats Fear Election Wipeout President Biden, increasingly isolated during the biggest political crisis of his presidency, is in a historic standoff with his party. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/16/us/politics/biden-election.html excerpt: In the nearly three weeks since President Biden took the debate stage in Atlanta and plunged his re-election campaign into chaos, his closest consultations have been not with his White House chief of staff, his top communications strategist or even with the leader of his campaign. Instead, he is relying on members of his family — a tight-knit clan that includes his son, Hunter, and the first lady, Jill Biden — along with a tiny group of loyalists to steer him through a self-created crisis and quell a rising rebellion against his candidacy from within his own party. Mr. Biden has not consulted directly with the pollsters on his 500-person campaign team about the state of the race against Donald J. Trump, but has instead relied on Mike Donilon, a longtime friend, former pollster and Biden-campaign messaging guru, to summarize the numbers, with regular memos and numerous daily phone calls. The ever-buzzing phone of Steve Ricchetti, a close counselor to Mr. Biden since his vice presidency, is the main conduit between concerned lawmakers and the president. Mr. Biden speaks frequently to his son, Hunter Biden, who calls and texts the president and first lady multiple times a day to see how they are coping with the onslaught of scrutiny surrounding his father’s health, mental fitness and final presidential campaign. Recent interviews with more than three dozen people, some of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations about the campaign, reveal a truth about the state of Mr. Biden’s campaign: the people steering Mr. Biden through the biggest political crisis of his presidency are true believers in the mythology of Joe Biden as the comeback kid, and they discount opinions to the contrary. The result is a historic standoff between Mr. Biden and his small inner circle on the one hand, and broad swaths of voters and elected Democrats fearful of an electoral wipeout in November on the other. It’s a battle Mr. Biden has seemed to embrace in recent days. When asked on Monday night about who he consults on issues like remaining in the race or dropping out, the president offered a terse response: “Me.” more at the link
He should take comfort in the fact it's a toss-up race. Can't believe all these chicken littles in the Democratic caucus haven't heard about how the race is a toss-up and a virtual tie. They must not be reading the D&D enough.
Democrats have always done poorly on messaging. Trump is a genius at branding and messaging. Unfortunately in this culture messaging and branding often wins out over actual performance. There is no denying Trump has had a very good three weeks none of that changes that he did take sensitive documents on national security and refused to return them when asked, that just recently he was grifting this supporters with gold colored sneakers and NFTs, and they several members of his own administration even those who are saying they will vote for him says he is unfit for the office (apparently forgiving student loans is worse than undermining the Constitution).
more classic earmarks of a Russian information operation Biden had rambling Zoom call with dozens of Dems ‘worse than the debate’ shortly before Trump assassination attempt: report https://nypost.com/2024/07/17/us-news/biden-had-rambling-zoom-call-worse-than-the-debate/ excerpt: “The call was even worse than the debate. He was rambling; he’d start an answer then lose his train of thought, then would just say ‘whatever.’ He really couldn’t complete an answer. I lost a ton of respect for him,” one person on the call said. “The president was rambling, dismissive of concerns, unable or unprepared to present a campaign strategy,” a second source, who is a member of Congress, added. The sniper attack on Trump at his campaign rally in Butler, Pa. essentially stopped the Democrats from leaking details of the call and coming out publicly against him, that source added. “Had the assassination attempt not occurred an hour later, I imagine 50 people on that Zoom were ready to come out publicly against him,” the member of Congress said. more at the link
My question about the statement below is. Was he able to get on the call on his own or did a millennial have to log in for him?
