Well we wont have much Rockets action for a few months now. Not until training camp. Definitely excited for a new season.

Tari will be back and our youngsters will be better. We have a great coach along with some solid vets. Not in a bad place cap wise, we have a great combination of vets, young prospects and future picks to move if a star becomes available.

    Exciting times ahead.

Wow, Rockets considered bring back Beverley. That's cool. Would have added to our list of guys who started their careers with us. We got Adams back who's pick was initially ours.

Who knows? I would like to see him in the next SL game. It can't hurt.

Lol Bev is not the old Bev, he is now a douchebag and media personality.

That development went wrong and his defensive game also declined.

His defensive game has declined some (think he was overhyped as defender), but mostly he's no longer a shooter. Being an okay defender (more help than POA now as he gambles too much as POA) that is now a huge negative on offense is just unplayable.

First of all Jokic is actually a good defender. Denver has both Murray and KPJ as their starters if Jokic was also bad defensively Nuggets wouldnt have won a ring.

Secondly on offense Brooks was just a bit worse than Mikael Bridges. Just check out their stats. Brooks wasnt as bad as you make him out to be just on 3s alone he shot 36% on 5 attempts which is decent.

He is definitely as bad as i make him out to be on offense. I think you can very reasonably say he is the worst offensive non center in basketball. Like i said, he is terrible at EVERY single aspect of offense. He did have that super lucky shooting early last season which makes his 3 pt % seem ok, but keep in mind he’s still below average and nobody guards him at all. He also gives you zero rebounding and zero playmaking, which is what i meant by reverse jokic, just talking offense.

Jokic isnt good barely serviceable..and Murray is a average at best on defense, reason they won cause they defense around them , same way dirk won, kcp, Mpj Aaron Gordon , then you had brown, Braun green Bryant those are all more than average defensive players maybe not on ball but in team defense

Wait, wait, wait! Are you implying, no, outright saying that Dirk Nowitzki wasn't a good defender?

Interesting they went after Beverley, I imagine when he would have been the Aaron Holiday replacement and IMO was perfect for it, I think I even mentioned him in an off-season thread as a thought to replace Holiday. I like having a vet PG on the bench

But Holiday is better anyway and has less baggage so I'm glad we got him back in the end instead

I imagine he turned it down because he didn't want to be a 3rd string PG that got no playing time, he'd rather go overseas and at least still be able to play while hoping some team has injury problems and gets desperate enough to give him a call.

Yeah I totally get that, and tbh if he was hoping for playing time this wasn't the right spot. The vet PG spot here is insurance in case our young guys aren't quite ready yet, not a sure fire playing time spot, because if Reed is as good as he looks like he might be then that's your back-up PG. Wouldn't want a frustrated Bev causing trouble on the bench

Hoping Holiday has that understanding too. I'm sure we'll move him if he gets fully moved out of the rotation though

I hated the Holiday signing and would have hated a washed up Beverly (didn’t even like his overrated ass when he played for us). If you wanted insurance at backup PG we should have gotten Brogdon and have both FVV and Jalen insurance. If Holiday is taking any minutes away from Amen, it is a complete failure dumb ass move.

I’m open to it. Depends on the assets. There’s still numerous questions we need answered considering we’re going to need to offer a max contract to retain him.

I’m ok with this as well, assuming the replacement is an upgrade. Like Booker. Again I think hard conversations need to be had and we certainly need to do our due diligence. What is his value? As we should with all our players. Unfortunately we need to make decisions on max contracts and it’s critical we it correct. I don’t want to be the Pistons where we are making commitments because we have to.
