The political rhetoric has been off the charts horrendous by both republicans and democrats. I'm surprised that it took this long for it to turn violent. I'm not giving anyone a pass including Vance, and I agree that what he said was irresponsible. However, you jumped to the leftist assumption. Biden is the President. Leftists aren't the only people that hear him speak or see the campaign rhetoric. The only political info we have on this nut bag that shot Trump is that he was a registered republican that donated to the democrats. Whether or not he shot Trump because of what the political rhetoric in this country has become is a complete unknown and Vance should not have assumed that. MAYBE he was just a kid that was bullied everyday in school and wanted everyone to remember him after his suicide mission to kill a high profile target.

in PA, you have to register with a party to vote in the primary. you'll recall how ActBlue and other progressives have actually promoted the idea of registering as republicans and voting in the republican primaries in several states. I registered so I could vote for Nikki Haley.
