I'll just put this out there right now. If Reed Sheppard starts and NBA game next season that's not due to injury, it's cause he's taking Jalen Green's spot and not FVV's. And yes, I believe FVV can play with Sheppard defensively much better than I believe in the Green/Sheppard defensive pairing.
Hawks didn’t have Young and my guess is Sheppard is who they would have taken. Long way to go to see who the better player will be, but I’m stoked the Rockets were able to draft him.
Cam looked very impressive today making some really nice reads and passes. Jaylen Brown went from .8 assists his rookie year to 3.5 every year by his fifth season. I could see a similar trajectory for Cam.
Can’t wait to see reed with the starters. With proper ball movement and screens he should have sooo many opportunities to score.
If Sheppard really stands out this season, I think Malcolm Brogdon makes a ton of sense to target as a Fred replacement. Someone who can both backup and play along Sheppard (at 6'4 230), can shoot, plays D, passes well, and should make a lot less than Fred - allowing us (if we moved on from Jalen) to open enough cap space to also chase a guy like Markkanen/Isaac/Ingram/Turner/Naz in Free Agency.
