Usually for most positions and careers there is a group of humans that are around the same level of competence and the one that is chosen is based on many factors like circumstance, knowing the right people and being competent. It's usually multiple of these factors. When the GOP chooses judges to fill federal positions and there list of acceptable candidates are only Christians(all Federalist approved judges must be Christian) would you say that is not seeking out the very most qualified human that exists to fill that position?
