On ESPN, they talked about Reed Sheppard and did an interview with him. Then they talked about "on the other side", Bronny James. Completely ignoring Dalton Knecht, the Lakers actual 1st round pick, who had an almost identical stat line to Sheppard. I feel bad for Knecht. It doesn't matter what he does, he's going to be overshadowed by Bronny.

Come regular season, when the Lakers actually need to win games, the fanfare will die down as will his minutes.

This is only in SL, I doubt Bronny sees any PT.

But hey shout out to Bronny he has already achieved more than 90% of current day superstar sons like the sons of MJ, Wade and Shaq.

Nobody gives a crap bro. He like the 55th pick its normal to be a project player or be 2 yrs away from 2 yrs away. His 4 yr contract ensure he will have time to develop before being cut.

People will talk about him until him and Bron makes history and then he will be forgotten.

I’m convinced it’s a marketing gimmick for the NBA & Lebron. But it is LA & This is show business.

He doesn't have basic NBA level scoring.

    I give him 4-5 years.

No slacking time in the offseason, work out 11 months a year.

Thanasis is 31? And looks about the same.

Doesn't that actually take some pressure (media/fans) off of Knecht?

Probably has been posted already, but you just reminded me of the Key & Peele "Will Smith's kids" sketch

No, there are hundreds of guys around the world outside the NBA with all of his tools, and more skill.

But unlike all those other schmucks without powerful dads, he will get an extended look he doesn't deserve. Eventually he "may" develop enough skills to be a passable NBA bench player, but so would plenty of other players if they were given the chance. The difference between the 200th best player in the world and the 1000th really isn't much, it's more about opportunity and he will get it.

Yep. Hope the guy thrives under scrutiny and can handle loads of criticism. Otherwise, his opportunities wont help him.

I wish Bronny was better but that’s how the cookie crumbles. The Lakers are about to enter the wilderness like we have been in for the last 5-6 seasons and there is nothing Lebron or Bronny can do to stop it.

Both Bronny and the agent have made statements to the effect that going to G-League is OK.

They'll play him a few minutes in the first game of the season - on court at the same time as LeBron.

Story written, then either off to GLeague, or he just travels with the team and carries the bags.

GLeague won't help him, he just isn't ever going to be good enough, so might as well let him travel with Dad and keep LeBron happy
