They want that movable salary .... it's necessary for trade purposes. What's funny is the narrative of Tilman being cheap .... all while making sure Stone has the necessary salary to match at any time during the past 3 years while they were a bad team. Yeah, he screwed up not spending on that 2018 roster but I think that taught him a valuable lesson, you can't cut corners and expect to win a championship. He went from shut up and listen to maybe I better listen ....

Can you imagine Alpi playing for Thibodeuax?? SOFs would be boycotting in front of Madison Square Garden!! Lol....Why isn't Thibodeuax playing Alpi?? Thibs is ALL DEFENSE, ALL THE TIME! Offense is a luxury.
I know roster space is a challenge but I think Rox have some salary cap space since they didnt extend both JG and Alpi. Looking at the free agency we are seeing players who can be worth a lot normally but now have to sign for lower deals. I think top of my list are Tyus Jones, Luke Kennard and Gary Trent Jr. If we can trade Tate for assets and sign one of those dudes I think we are set.
How would the Knicks even be able to afford Sengun? They just gave $200M+ to OG Anunoby, $156M to Jalen Brunson, & if I'm looking at SalarySwish.com right, https://www.salaryswish.com/teams/knicks, they don't have cap room, would they be able to sign him with Bird Rights? But who the heck would the Rockets end up with, do they have draft picks after the Bridges deal? But I'm not @BimaThug so I have no clue how the NBA salary cap works.
How likely is it that we make a move to add someone else this offseason? I'd think they have 12 guys who won't/shouldn't be traded, Alperen Sengun, Steven Adams, Jabari Smith Jr., Tari Eason, Dillon Brooks, Cam Whitmore, AJ Griffin, Fred VanVleet, Aaron Holiday, Amen Thompson, Jalen Green, & Reed Sheppard, not that I don't think Brooks should or shouldn't be moved, just unsure if anyone takes on his deal, that leaves 3 players with guaranteed deals, Jock Landale, Jeff Green, & Jae'Sean Tate, they make I think a total of around $23.565M, not sure we have actual cap room, but just the NT-MLE left to spend, but I think Bima said we're like $6.7M under the luxury tax threshold right now, would a Gary Trent Jr. or someone else get PT over 1 or more of the 12 GTD players I mentioned?
Think Sengun stays. Not so much Green. Don’t think he’s in the team’s future plans. Unless, he becomes the all star player that members of this board believe he can be. Can’t see the Rockets giving the MAX to both. So at this stage, I think it eventually goes to Sengun. This roster is solid. Said in another thread, can’t see Reed getting more than 10-15 minutes of rotational minutes. THIS season. The team needs to see what they have in Amen, Cam and Green. Think Udoka will rely heavily on FVV. Minutes will be tight for the bench. I loved Holidays play last season, but think Shep gets those minutes. Injuries would change the whole landscape. Just a thought on Green. Watching last nights game, was impressed with Knecht. Know many wanted a trade down from #3 and draft him. Looks solid and composed. Also have no problem with older rookies, maturity a big plus. My point is he makes Austin Reaves redundant. Would require a 3rd team, Lakers roster sucks. They do own their own #1 in 2026. But Green would add some sizzle in Hollywood. Green has a lot of highlight reel in him, but watch him for 48 minutes and meh. Think Reaves is a better complimentary player. So some combo Reaves and 3rd team player or draft assets for Green and throw in Tate.
After watching Reed last night, our bench is looking scary deep and good. I honestly don't know who would win if they have an offseason 5v5 workout of starters vs bench. Fred/Green/Brooks/Smith/Sengun vs Amen/Reed/Cam/Tari/Adams.
It's impossible for the knicks to sign sengun, and they don't have any assets left so it's impossible for the knicks to trade for sengun
i wouldn't take him for free so he's not an asset in my book, i can't imagine any team trading anything of value for randle, he sucks
