ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Lakers - Vegas Summer League 7/12/2024

Amen was handling quite a bit more by the end of season. KJ Martin doesn't deserve to be mentioned next to Amen if I'm being honest. I'd rather have Bronny than KJ Martin, if I'm being saucy.

 

Sure but this guy didn’t even stand out in high school. He was awful in college and is even worse against other summer league talent. Maybe he should have stayed in college but I just don’t see the upside…

 

Was at the game this evening.

Nate Williams continues to impress me on both sides of the ball. A worthy 2-way contract.

Reed started out a little sloppy, but really turned things around quickly. The shooting is elite; ball looks like it’s on a string when it leaves his hands. Got beat a few times defensively but never gives up on the play. Very active hands; forced turnovers. I was watching his handle closely. It needs to improve but he’s got what he needs to be an on-ball guy. I’m so excited

Cam didn’t have a great game. Didn’t shoot it well and made some bad turnovers. But he picked it up the 2nd half. Forced a bunch of turnovers, rebounded well, started finishing better at the rim. I predict a better game from Cam on Sunday. He was trying to pass the ball so I liked that. His freakish athleticism was on full display tonight.

Griffin and Dante kind of disappeared on me.

 

Are you really already putting two of our players against each other after one summer league game??? Dude, just be happy for god's sake.

 

What are you talking about Amen played the pg when FVV got hurt. He also showed what he can do in the last game of the season.

 

The other dude wants Amen relegated to Dennis Rodman role after 1 SL game of RS. Dude tell me as an Amen fan why tf would I be happy about that????

I'm happy with RS but that is ridiculous. Instead of being angsty at me direct that baby rage on that other poster who are trying to divide 2 players who complement each other.

 

Let's not get too carried away. 50% from the line is subpar and it kept us from reaching 100 points. I hope the coaches can work on his shot.

 

What's baby rage? lol I don't know what is going on between you and some other poster. I just noticed you are trying to downplay Reed bc you are worried about Amen for some reason? Not necessary brother. Amen will be fine, he will find his role as a slasher/cutter whatever he ends up being. But you are already stressing over Reed taking his minutes or something?? Just be happy.

i dunno... reed looks a bit too short. we should trade him while his stock is high

 

First time actually seeing Reed play. Like others point out, his BBIQ is evident. Definitely is NBA ready. BUT don't see him getting more than 10-15 minutes of rotational play. This season. Back court is stacked ahead of him. Even if Amen is a 'point forward' or Cam is a SG ( he's actually a SF ) they will be on the court most of the time. And should be. FVV is a given for heavy minutes. So either Green falls flat on his face or a injury, the minutes just aren't there for RS.

If the Rockets win, then everything is good.

How am I downplaying Reed Sheppard? What I just was the truth look at all his highlights someone starts the offense and passes the ball to Sheppard. And I'm not even stressing RS taking Amen's mins, RS would be lucky to get mins in the rotation this year with FVV and Holiday on the team.

Our team is stacked top to bottom.
