IMO, it’s the other way around. Knees don’t “truly heal”. Once you get a big ligament injury (I.e ACL tear), the menisci start degenerating more rapidly. end stage is bone on bone.

the way I see it he’s got X number of reps left on his knees and he needs to be maximized before they go out.

Sometimes if the injury happens at an early age it heals much better. He won’t get many minutes early anyway. He’s a project they need to refine his game and he has to add some skill so as not to rely too much on athleticism.

He’s got some tools though. His footwork is a mess but you can see the possibilities

Yeah and I think Udoka, Splitter, Adams and Sengun are good teachers for him. G League will help a lot too.

You probably know more about it than I do. I just see new technology monthly sometimes weekly. Sports Medicine is scary now. Things are happening that were impossible a few years ago. Knees were a career stopper for sure. IF it was the 80’s even up to the 2010’s, I wouldn’t even reply because you are more than right. I don’t know the exact answer but I sure others do.

Joel Embiid is still playing at age 30 so N'faly should be ok. He will be a backup at best so he will preserve his legs as he will only play minimally.

Not sure if he was hurt, but he looked like an unplayable stiff out there.

Dante should be put in G-League this year. If he stays healthy, he'll have a very long basketball career either as an NBA reserve or overseas.

I agree - Orlando Robinson certainly looked like a better option for that 2way contract!!

1 game caution - let's see how he goes next up.

They are all the same to me no 2 way big will see court over Sengun/Adams/Landale. Robinson got in the NBA in 2022 he should def look better than NFaly Dante in SL.

It is difficult to assess bigs in SL, because so often the game turns into AAU ball. I remember watching Andrew Bynum in SL and he was truly the most awful player I had ever seen. A few years later he was an absolute monster in the NBA

I just want to see N’Faly run hard and protect the rim, and prove he can absorb minutes and stay healthy. Baby steps.

Game two swung in the same direction, but much harder.

If the Rockets choose between OR and Dante, the decision is very obvious.
