Biden told to drop out during meeting with Congressional Hispanic Caucus
    By Marianna Sotomayor
Congressional reporter covering the House of Representatives

Hispanic House Democrats were stunned when they heard Rep. Mike Levin (D-Calif.) speak up on a call between the group and President Biden to say he believed Biden should end his reelection campaign.

According to three people familiar with the call, Levin raised his hand on the virtual call and spoke at length about his constituents’ concerns. It was then that he said “for the good of his constituents and the country,” Biden should step aside.

In response, Biden said he understood the concerns that many may have about his age. “That’s why I’m going out and letting people touch me, poke me, ask me questions,” Biden said. “It’s a legitimate concern for people, but that’s why I think it’s important I got to get out and show people everything from how well I move to how much I know, and that I’m still in good charge.”

Several members on the call — which was brought together by the CHC’s campaign arm BOLD PAC — described it as one that went well for the president and that they were reassured he was able to coherently make the case for why he was the best Democrat for the job, according to two of those people. Biden also asked members for their support in hopes that the party could unify their focus against former president Donald Trump.

While some on the call were concerned that Biden ran an hour late, supporters who have known the president for some time knew that he typically runs late.

There were members who had their hands raised to speak up, but were unable to get called on. One person familiar said Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-Wash.) — who declared last week Biden would lose to Trump — and Rep. Gabe Vasquez (D-N.M.) had their hands raised, but noticed it had been lowered by those controlling the Zoom call. Others familiar with the call disputed that raised hands were being taken down.

Rep. Lou Correa (D-Calif.) was one of the members who was also called on to speak to the president. According to a person familiar with his remarks, Correa asked Biden to deliver “a strong message of hope” to the Latino community by finding a pathway to citizenship for many undocumented families.

Which yes men would you prefer? GOP or Dems? It's a situation the Democrats should have never been in, but yet here we are.

The 2008 election wasn’t that close with Obama winning by 10 million actual votes and almost double the electoral votes of McCain. The polling matched the final results.

The 2020 election actually wasn’t that close either with Biden winning by 8 million actual votes. He out performed polling winning in GA and AZ and coming very close in NC.

This largely how I feel. I will say again if the Republicans were nominating a McCain, Romney, even Christie or Haley I would probably change my vote.

Every administration does but thst is why it is so unprecedented for several of those who served in Trump’s administration to have come
    Out and say he’s unfit.

    1) Obama was leading but it was absolutely not a sure thing. Many Democratic buttholes were puckered until the results came on. Further, Obama didn't break away until a few weeks before election day.

    2) We don't decide elections by popular vote. I'm not so certain I may never see another Republican win the popular vote.

    I question this.

There are deliberations that occur in private, but once a decision is made, most will not voice their differences in public. They may do so after leaving office (by writing a memoir, book, or other means). Due to the private nature, we do not know how many "yes men" are present in these deliberations.

Perhaps we should first define what a "yes man" is. There are at least two levels:

    1. A "yes man" who doesn't push back on illegal actions is quite different from
    2. One who doesn't voice different opinions on policy (legal actions).
It's possible that many admins lack individuals who voice different opinions on policy. I don't think there were any, including in Trump's first term, who failed to push back on illegal actions. That is not likely to be the case for a second term.

‘OMFG’: Biden’s mistakes push shocked US allies toward Trump
Western diplomats are privately horrified by the President’s public gaffes and are working to build links with the Trump team ahead of November’s election.

    JULY 12, 2024 8:32 PM CET
BY STUART LAU, STEFAN BOSCIA, EMILIO CASALICCHIO, NETTE NÖSTLINGER AND TIM ROSS

For some of America’s allies, it’s time to bet on the other guy.

European diplomats and officials have described their shock at President Joe Biden’s faltering, error-strewn public performances and revealed they have already started reaching out to Donald Trump.

With his poll numbers already in decline, Biden is under mounting pressure from his own supporters to step aside in favor of a younger candidate like Vice President Kamala Harris to take on Trump at November’s presidential election.

First, there was Biden’s stumble at the presidential TV debate last month, in which he lost his train of thought, triggering a wave of soul-searching among Democrats and others who worry what a new Trump term will bring.

Then, on Thursday, came Biden’s long press conference at the close of the NATO summit in Washington, during which he insisted he was fit enough to serve another term and the best person to beat Trump. When Biden introduced Ukraine’s leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy as “President Putin,” there was an audible gasp among Europeans in the room.

One of those present texted POLITICO: “OMFG.”

A second added: “The European leaders froze onstage, although they did their best to keep smiling and clapping. Nobody mentioned it with the Biden team afterward.”

Another senior European diplomat in D.C. said colleagues have been busy reaching out to those who are likely to join the Trump team for months — setting up meetings, attending the same events, and inviting Trump’s allies to dinner.

Asked if there’s any pressure back home not to do this due to Trump’s polarizing image, one diplomat said: “No. We would be failing our duty if we were not trying to build connections with his people now.”

The Trump outreach has accelerated, another diplomat said, and predates Biden’s latest gaffes. “It’s been going on for more than a year,” the person added. Key European officials have been addressing conservative think tanks in order to get the message on Ukraine across to the Trump-supporting audience, the person said.

The NATO summit marked the first meeting of Biden and new British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to reaffirm the so-called “special relationship” between the United Kingdom and the United States. Even Brits were shocked and dismayed by the president’s apparent frailty.

“It’s insane,” one British official said, giving a personal opinion. “All their messages at least to the election will be drowned out with coverage about his health and abilities. And it’s becoming a laughing stock around the world.”

“What will happen next?” the official asked. “Could he order an armed forces strike without meaning to and land himself in international court pleading some kind of mental disorder?”

Karen Pierce, Britain’s ambassador in Washington, has led outreach efforts with members of Trump’s team and senior MAGA Republicans.

The embassy has been a conduit between both major U.K. political parties and figures they believe will take part in a potential second Trump administration.

Senior British diplomats in Washington are now confident they have identified the right MAGA Republican strategists and representatives on Capitol Hill who actually have the ear of Trump.

A person close to Starmer’s Downing Street said the British embassy is far better prepared now than in 2016, when it made very little preparation for the possibility Trump would win the presidency.

“A great job has been done by Karen Pierce and her team,” the person said. “They have not repeated the mistakes of 2016.”

There is alarm, too, in Germany.

“It is now clear that Joe Biden sticking to his candidacy will only help Trump,” said Roderich Kiesewetter, a prominent Christian Democrat lawmaker on the Foreign Affairs Committee in Berlin. “It can only be hoped that the Democrats will find a way for Joe Biden to withdraw while saving face and that Kamala Harris, for example, will become the Democrats’ frontrunner.”

“I am concerned about the domestic political divide in the United States and the potential impact of Donald Trump’s election victory on transatlantic security and democratic institutions in the U.S.,” Kiesewetter said.

No. Hollywood has nothing to do with the deep state. The deep state are a million civil services workers you have never heard of that work in the various government agencies. They are the ones that are compiling data to oppose mergers, writing memos to support mask mandates, opposing sales of weapons to Israel, generating Title IX regulations, or ten thousand other things that don't make the news but that are very pleasing to the democratic base.

It isn't just Hollywood trying to get Biden to withdraw. It's donors, congressmen, governors, etc.

Your post immediately followed an article about Ashley Judd, so please forgive the misunderstanding about what you were referencing. Regardless, Congressmen, Governors, and donors are not the deep state either. The deep state is employees at government agencies like the FBI, CDC, FCC, SEC, NIAID, USDA, FDA, ICE, CBP, BATFE, etc. People that never ran for office and are writing and implementing policy without input from anyone that was elected.
