Slightly different situations. Springer was already approaching 30 (in part thanks to the astros delay), Cole got a 9 year deal as a PITCHER, and the oft injured Correa actually got a better deal than what I thought the Astros were willing to do (even if it was token… in hindsight, Correa would have likely taken it). Tucker is the out of HS high draft pick that wasn’t delayed, doesn’t have a chronic injury history, is expected to age well as an OF, and may actually have mostly prime years for any 8-10 year deal. Then again, the Astros offense has been surprisingly “better” without him… but that doesn’t mean he won’t be enticed to say. Plus he’s got one more full season here. Nobody was antsy about George leaving as the Astros were trying to win it all in 2019.
Astros look to move within only 6 games of the wildcard leading Yankees. It was only 4 short weeks ago we were a whopping 17 games behind the Yankees.
Unless there's some specific matchup information, Scott should've pitched another inning. Espada is misusing his bullpen. Abreu and Pressly could've finished the game, thus allowing Hader an extra day of rest. It can still fruition tonight, but there's still 2+ months before season's end.
