I just got power and the internet still works. 3 days no power and no mobile connectivity is crazy! The new centerpoint outage hasn't updated my area being back up though. Beryl, you big back b****!! I hate you!!
Gotta represent the best side in all of Houston, S.W.A.T baby!! Didn't lose power for more than a day. We ride blue baby, ain't no bloods here. Alief all day!! My side the best side!!
Finally got power back here in Cypress about 10:45 this morning. Just a bit over 48 hours or so all in all. Still **** this city's infrastructure and **** CenterPoint. Think it might be generator time for the future because this **** is getting old.
I feel bad for y'all that are still without power. Don't accept the idea that this was totally unexpected. Some models had this going to Houston almost a full week before it made landfall. Icon (German model), Navgem (US Navy model) and JMA ( Japanese model) were showing this for days before it became apparent. Centerpoint dropped the ball hardcore and their feet need to be held to the fire. As a weather enthusiast I'm sad I missed the event there as I'm on vacation in Europe, but definitely not sad I missed the misery that followed.
I'm very serious when I ask this because I don't know honestly what we can do, but what can we do? I really really want to avoid politics, since that's a discussion for another forum, but is not as if I have the option to jump ship. I'm stuck with Centerpoint Energy. Our state has decided this is the way we function and despite being a large City, our districts are broken in such a way to ensure the consolidation of power to one entity. The whole county could vote in a different direction, and we would still be stuck with our situation, since the minority have a large voice, despite being smaller in numbers. As Texans, what can we do to combat this situation? I'd love to jump solar and give Centerpoint less money, but that **** is too expensive even with tax credits.
What's wild to me is that state leadership is fine with the economic impact of Houston being taken offline for days on end multiple times per year from natural disasters.
The state leadership lives in Austin or Dallas. I lost my mind when I saw the bottom of a dallas freeway being powerwashed.
It's wild to me that there are some that vote as they do knowing that Abbott and company do NOT have their interests in mind at all. The P.I.C. do what their rural voters want and that is to make urbanites suffer.
+1 Who had Mrs Siegler as teacher?!?!?!?!? I remembered the field used to be bigger before they built the sides. I don't remember much about middle and jr high, but I remember my elementary school.
