4 senior House Dems, including NY Rep. Jerry Nadler, join calls for Biden to drop out of 2024 race

    https://nypost.com/2024/07/07/us-ne...join-call-for-biden-to-drop-out-of-2024-race/

    excerpt:

Reps. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), Joe Morelle (D-N.Y.), Adam Smith (D-Wash.), and Mark Takano (D-Calif.) have all called on the incumbent to step aside for the 2024 Presidential race during the two-hour call with Jeffries, sources told Politico, the New York Times and other outlets.

The four Democrats made their claims during a meeting of House Democrats on Sunday that was meant to address the party’s anxieties and concerns over Biden’s ability to win in November.

Nadler, Morelle, Smith and Takano join five other House Democrats who have issued statements questioning Biden’s reelection prospects following a poor performance during the first presidential debate against former President Donald Trump.

Think Bidens letter first thing Monday morning was an astute move.

Preempted a lot of calls early this week for him to step aside with a forceful “Im not leaving no matter what message”

Seems like the only people calling for him to step down are those who never plan on running for presidency in the future. So they're just willing to let Dems lose this race and wait for 2028 or 2032.

Congressional Black Caucus member breaks with colleagues, airs Biden concerns

    excerpt:

Rep. Marc Veasey (D-Texas) is urging vulnerable Democrats to break with President Biden if they need in order to win reelection.

In an interview with CNN, Veasey said vulnerable Democrats need to “do whatever it is they need to do” to win reelection, even if that means distancing themselves from Biden.

Vulnerable House Democrat calls on Biden to step aside in 2024 race

    https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4764042-vulnerable-house-democrat-biden-withdraw-2024/

    excerpt:

Rep. Pat Ryan (D-N.Y.), a vulnerable House Democrat, is calling on President Biden to step aside in the 2024 race, becoming the eighth lawmaker in the lower chamber to publicly urge the incumbent to withdraw.

Ryan — who represents New York’s 18th Congressional District — told The New York Times in an interview published Wednesday that he does not believe Biden is the strongest Democrat to take on former President Trump in November.

“I’d be doing a grave disservice if I said he was the best candidate to serve this fall,” Ryan told the Times. “For the good of our country, for my two young kids, I’m asking Joe Biden to step aside in the upcoming election and deliver on the promise to be a bridge to a new generation of leaders.”

Antonio Delgado (D), New York’s lieutenant governor and a former member of the U.S. House, said Wednesday that President Biden should abandon his reelection campaign.

In a statement posted on X, Delgado said Biden “deserves our eternal gratitude” for his accomplishments. Delgado added that Biden “can add to his legacy, showing his strength and grace, by ending his campaign and making room for a new leader.”

So i guess these lawmakers need to state their position for their own campaigns. I know that Biden won the delegates from the voters so is it possible that the lawmakers and the DNC can remove him even if he wants to run?

Things do not look good for Joe.

Things can change those, at this point 4 years ago, Biden had a 9 point lead and won by like 2 points.......... 8 years ago Killary Clinton had a 6 point lead and lost.

So I suspect either this is the worst blow out since Clinton/Dole or something REALLY goes wrong and Biden squeaks it out.

Still - 80% chance that Trumpy is back in the saddle again for a second term at this point and Joe Biden can go back to being a dog trainer.
