It's pretty obvious to me that Biden has some form of neuro-degenerative disease like Parkinson's or Lewy Body dementia, with symptoms progressing relatively quickly. Sadly, I have seen what Parkinson's did to my father. I don't see how Biden could serve another term.
He doesn’t (unless his doctor has indicated so and ordered tests that we aren’t aware of yet). Of course, one can also create and believe in a conspiracy theory that his doctors are involved in a conspiracy to unethically, immorally (and maybe even illegally) hide a neurologically damaged POTUS from the public. Not everyone is morally and ethically compromised or corrupted. Except for one candidate and his enablers, most aren’t.
that's a pretty confident claim, one I think is no longer justified. I think it is probably a 50/50 call right now whether Biden is ill or healthy. And I don't think it's implausible any more to suspect a large number of people have been involved in keeping his condition hidden from the media and the public.
Easily justified, and I outlined it. Armchair psychoanalysis aside, you would have to buy into a conspiracy. I see this often now—people project morally compromised individuals onto every profession. There are, of course, people like that, and they get all the attention when caught, but by far they are the exception. I believe if you yourself are compromised, you tend to see it everywhere. Maybe I’m still naive after a few decades on this planet, but I don’t see any mass conspiracy. If he’s at that level, someone would have spoken up by now. Now, with that said, there is a massive compromise of ethics and morals on the Republican side. So if you say this about Trump when he was POTUS, I might give it an additional five seconds, but I wouldn’t buy it either. Someone would talk. We aren’t talking about illness but neurological damage / disease.
Biden is showing more fight the last few days towards people saying he should step down than he did against Trump In that debate. If he had brought this fire a few weeks ago wouldn’t be in this situation.
Somewhat overlap but this is generally how it is: An illness can be acute, like the flu. A disease can be chronic, like diabetes.
I've never given it much thought, but I can see how the two might be conceptually distinct. fair enough.
I’m certainly not an expert or someone who could make a Parkinson diagnosis but it doesn’t seem like he is showing things like shakes that would come with Parkinson’s.
I want to come back to this claim of "conspiracy," which is another strong word. Remember I didn't use the word "conspiracy"-- what I said was "I don't think it's implausible any more to suspect a large number of people have been involved in keeping his condition hidden from the media and the public." This is the lead article in the WSJ today. Again, I don't think it's implausible to say that a large number of people have been involved in keeping Biden's condition hidden from the public. Sycophants closing ranks and guarding a leader whose power/livelihoods they depend ons status is hardly a novel situation and thinking that's what's going on here is hardly being conspiratorial minded.

Just because something hasn't been formally diagnosed doesn't mean that person definitely doesn't have it. I don't know if Biden has some sort of condition or not but I'm not going to claim, just because he hasn't been diagnosed with it it means he definitively doesn't have it.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/us/poli...not-being-treated-for-parkinsons-white-house/ Dr Kevin Cannard, a specialist in early signs of Parkinson’s, performed neurological examinations on Mr Biden during the three annual check-ups he has received since becoming president, the White House said. But it refused to elaborate on why Dr Cannard visited the White House eight times from July 2023 to March this year, according to visitor logs, including one January meeting with the president’s personal doctor. The three annual check-ups found no signs of Parkinson’s, the White House said, with Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary angrily refusing to go into further detail on the recent visits in a combative press conference on Monday night. Medical experts have suggested the 81-year-old has some symptoms consistent with Parkinson’s and there are calls on Mr Biden to take a public test to prove he is mentally able to lead the US. On Monday he said that every day as president amounted to a neurological exam and said people questioning his fitness “drives me nuts” in a call to MSNBC’s Morning Joe. Mr Biden has not been evaluated for Parkinson’s, a neurodegenerative condition which affects the brain, since February and never outside of the annual checks, the White House said.
It's easier to buy into given their credibility gap and their messaging that a vote for Trump is a vote for Fascism/Ending Democracy.
