consider the source, the pump-and-dumb con man Chamath Palihapitiya took retail investors for a ride---pumping n dumping his SPACs---and got away with it, He lent his reputation to a slew of companies going public via his special purpose acquisition companies. He pump them hard, and then dump them; thus, his moniker the ruinous SPAC king. Now, almost a year after calling two SPACs quits, he’s still in denial that he was the pied piper who enticed retail investors into betting on speculative, money-losing companies. Donal Trump is doing to his SPAC, Trump Social, what Chmath had done with his SPACs
Because he has not "destroyed California" any more than Ronald Reagan "destroyed America" He'd be a huge buffer against the religious-fascists who populate the State House in Texas.
I have a lot of friends who live in California who would strongly disagree. I can't stand him but currently he has no impact on me. I certainly don't want him anywhere near Texas
Buck Turgidson has it right about Newsom; I live in Calif Newsom is popular in all metro areas. he is more popular in No Calif than where I live in So Calif
Well, the standards is Texas right now are abysmal with Abbott and Cruz leading the way. With that in mind, yeah I would take Newsom over Governor Ten Commandments. Newsom hasn't destroyed California. There have been serious issues in California for 50 years. I remember back in 2011 that California had 5 of the 10 most miserable cities in the USA - that was nearly 15 years. California has had slowing growth going back to 2000, and that isn't a surprise because it had a massive population. Most people leaving California are doing so for financial reasons, because it is very expensive to live there - especially housing. Also - having so many people (35,000,000) living in the state has caused environmental issues and extreme weather. The fact that so many Baby Boomers live there and are dying also plays a part - fewer workers there. There are real problems in California - the state income tax is over 10%, the cost of owning a house is so high that most people in California never will, and housing in general is extremely costly because of high demand and limitations on building. You will need to own a car to really do much in California as well.... it isn't a great place for the lower working class and middle class to do well. The schools are also as bad as they are in Texas - which is a real problem.
Not me - and I say that as someone that has lived in Texas and California. I can give you a list of what is "wrong" in California - and I have been very critical of Newsom but Abbott is worse by far.
lol Woke Turlington doesn’t realize you live in California @Salvy @ROXRAN none of these fake outrage woke people would ever move out of Texas and pay 1 million dollars for a house in the hood and 30 % taxes and get their cars broken into by gang members each week And have their power company start forest fires this is the same as gays for palestine Or Biden is in great mental shape @basso @AroundTheWorld
Yes Thing 1 and Thing 2. Texas is prosperous despite their terrible politicians - they are embarrassingly bad.
Who’s leaving Texas for California? It’s not even close for the migration no state is perfect but Newsom got a recall ballot Nothing like this ever happened in Texas @GOATuve
These statements aren’t about you It’s about me because I keep posting the realities of California and you can confirm it Buck is only here because of the 99ers Anyone who has extensively been to both states knows what state is turning into a lawless third world country @Space Ghost @basso
