Biden and Trump surrounding themselves with yes men doesn't make them fascist. It makes them terrible leaders and that is a classic characteristic.

More like a leftist taking away special privilege's of a multinational corporation. The deal Disney had in Florida would have made AOC's head explode if it were Amazon in NY.

Did he go after Disney because of monopoly practices and bad labor practices or because in the movie Buzz Lightyear, a lesbian couple pecked lips for a couple of seconds?

When you frame Desantis ' fight as anything besides a culture wars clown show the you lost me. There was no sincerity with his fight against Disney outside of trying to win brownie points for those that are knee deep in the cultural wars.

100% opposite. Republicans favor states rights, personal freedoms, and small government. Democrats are the complete opposite. Democrats rule as though they think the constituents are dumb and need government assistance to survive. They WANT centralized power and Democrats have proven that there is no depth to which they'll stoop to retain it. Every election cycle is a new set of lies. 2016: Russian collusion; 2020: Hunter's laptop is Russian disinformation; 2024: String of coordinated, political attack prosecutions against Trump using novel legal theories and deep blue jury pools as weapons.

Fascists punish their political opponents -- Democrats are using the courts to do this over the last several years. Fascists use propaganda to promote their ideology -- Democrats obviously use mainstream media and big tech to do just this. Fascists seek totalitarianism -- government control over the economy, education, and culture... Republicans want the government to stay out of the way of the economy, want to abolish the Department of Energy, and are opposed to the woke culture wars being fought over cross-dressing, boys playing girls sports, and drag queen shows in front of kids.

I honestly think he smartly seized upon an opportunity where Disney stepped in political dookie and he had the public backing to correct a terrible deal the Florida government made 60 years ago. He also won the battle, something Trump has basically never done whilst in office.

there is only one presidential campaign that has part of their agenda expanding the percentage of staff in the executive branch as political appointees.

He smartly seized up on a culture wars touch point in the American Zeitgeist that he believed would allow him to ascend into national presidential politics.

If you believe there was any sincerity of his fight against Disney outside the fact that the culture wars helped launch him into the national stage, then I have a garage full of Amway products to sell you.

DeSantis is an obvious authoritarian. Recent Florida House bill -
As of July 1, 2024, HOAs may no longer:
    • Enforce rules on some residents but not others
    • Ban homeowners or their invited guests from parking personal, business or first responder vehicles (including pickup trucks) that are not commercial vehicles in their driveways or any other area where they have a right to park per state, county and municipal regulations
    • Ban contractors or workers from the homeowner's property
    • Fine residents for leaving garbage cans at the curb or the end of their driveway within 24 hours of a scheduled trash collection
    • Fine residents for leaving up holiday lights or decorations past the HOA's rules without prior notice, after which the homeowner will have one week to take them down
    • Limit or create rules for the inside of a structure that isn't visible from the street, a neighbor's property, an adjacent common area or a community golf course
    • Ban vegetable gardens or clotheslines, if they can't be seen from the street, a neighbor's property, an adjacent common area or a community golf course
    • Require review and approval of plans for central air conditioning, refrigeration, heating or ventilation system that isn't visible from the street, a neighbor's property, an adjacent common area or a community golf course and is similar to previously approved systems.
There are also big changes in HOA fines.

    • HOAs may not levy fines more than $100 per violation or more than $1,000 in total if daily fines are levied
    • HOAs may not put a lien in a parcel for fines of less than $1,000
    • If the violation is cured before the hearing or in a manner specified in the written notice, the fine or suspension may not be imposed

come on dude. we have never had a president incite an insurrection against his own government. there is no comparison when it comes to trump, his narcissism, terrible person-ness and his anti-democratic tendencies. none at all. you know this.

i know those same interests can be found in both R & D circles. and if anything, trump has aligned himself more with corporate interests than either party previously had been in recent memory.

i have a major issue with corporate influence and special interests in our government. on that note id point out that the NRA successfully lobbies for policies that the vast majority of this country are against. they donate almost exclusively towards the republican party and have an undue influence in our government.

i know that trump is a threat to the basic institutions of this country and that he should never be in a position of power again so im voting for whoever is running against him.

biden is old, goofy and tired
trump is old, goofy and a raging lunatic with dangerous authoritarian tendencies.

Ah yes, noted historical fascist Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence. You really got me there.
Also, deregulation and the dispersion of power from a strong central government to state and local authority, just like Mussolini did it.
Yes, that is one of the clearest reasons you don't seem to understand what fascism is. The core of fascism is that it is an authoritarian system centering the state and consolidating power in the hands of the central government. The very idea of reserving powers to the state or local level is antithetical to fascism.
Fascism isn't a synonym for bad. It is an actual form of government. It is so bizarre that you seem to understand that not all authoritarianism is fascist, but can't understand that not all limitations on freedom or ideas that result in unequal outcomes are fascist.
Eugenics is not an inherently fascist idea. There were communist eugenicists and liberal eugenicists. The state vs. federal part is more relevant to whether something is fascist than the idea of eugenics.
