Dumping him and Kamala at this point is certain loss. He is the Dems best shot at winning. Trump can easily screw up and lose. They are the only choice because the Dems reached and pulled Trump out of the depths of irrelevance with political indictments, and as shown in 2016 don't GAF about democracy or what candidates their voters actually want. This election should be Newsom vs DeSantis.
the 1976 election, the one right after the Watergate trials and Nixon resignation, should have been Jerry Brown vs. Ronald Reagan, not Carter vs. Ford the 2008 election should have been Hillary vs, McCain, not Obama vs. McCain the 2016 election should have been Jeb Bush vs. Biden, not Trump vs. Hillary
2008 was decided by voters overwhelmingly and the super delegates couldn't turn the tide. They corrected that in 2016 by getting out ahead of any challengers. 2016 was looking to be Bush vs Clinton and when the public collectively threw up at the thought and demanded populist options Bernie and Trump emerged. Bernie got rekt by super delegates and Trump got to 1237 and became the nominee. The donors clearly want, Clinton, Bush, Biden, McCain etc.
Biden's got to go. That debate performance was unacceptable for a candidate to be POTUS. If Biden doesn't step down, I'm voting for Trump. If Biden seriously believes that Trump is a threat to the union, then he should step aside. But when he says if he loses than he's ok as long as he gives it his best shot. WTF. Only person I can see beating Trump is Newsom.
I stand by I would vote for a toaster over Trump. Given what Trump has already said and did a weakened enfeebled president is preferable to a President with pretensions to authoritarianism. That said with several current Democratic office holders calling for Biden to step down I’m leaning towards that Biden will withdraw from the race.
100% if Biden doesn't withdraw, I've voting for Trump and taking a picture of my ballot to prove it. I'll fly the Trump flag over my houses. Biden can't beat Trump. And a Trump win means libs are going to get punished in ways most Americans can't even begin to comprehend. History tells us what happens to those on the wrong side of a dictator.
The debate was poor. That ABC interview was worse (only watched 10m but it was enough), imo. He denied a very serious issue he's facing. This is the closest I have seen him come to behaving like Trump. I will still vote for him easily given the other choice, but I'm definitely in the camp that thinks he should be booted.
Judoka, serious question: What would it take for you to vote for Trump? How bad does the other candidate have to be? Feel free to go way out on the curve if necessary, even if you have to dip back in time and pull some of the real baddies out, like Mao, Hitler and Stalin. You would vote FDR over Trump, and he had unconstitional mass concentration camps too, so I feel like respecting the rules of this country is of subject and not of rule. There have been two points in history where a president could have instituted full Presidential authority. One was 1860. The other was 2020.
Watch the first 10 minutes… unprepared and forced—those aren’t reasonable after the poor debate performance. But then, to me, he basically lied through denialism. That was pretty unacceptable.
