Luis Garcia is gonna be nasty when he gets back. I think he will be a huge lift for the pitching staff.
When Altuve out, Dubon has to play 2B which pretty much takes away any other viable 1B option. He’s also been productive enough during this run to warrant the playing time. Everybody (even Singleton) knows he’s not the ‘answer’ there… but until Altuve, Tucker come back, expect at least one of Singleton/Dubon to always be in the lineup.
No I just thought it was a bit presumptuous and funny and odd that you would tell us how Jon Singleton rates himself.
He's literally said in interviews he knows he wasn't brought here to be an everyday player... but he'll work hard to stay up and do whatever is asked of him. I think he's one of the most well adjusted and self-aware professional players out there. People who literally know their capabilities/limits, strengths/weakness' and are honest with themselves will do quite well... even if they're not superstars.
I think it’s a good lineup considering the twins purposely took out Altuve. We have to sweep these chumps now.
True but he wouldn’t believe or tell you that he isn't the answer at 1b. He can be self aware and still confidently believe that he could raise his OPS 100 points.
Ok. Im just re-iterating his approach/response on how to handle being a part-time player. He knows he's a part time player and he's going to do that job the best he can. More players can learn from that instead of pouting about lack of playing time, etc. If/when he gets less starts due to either being in a slump (or they get healthy and/or acquire a possible replacement), he'll be a professional and make the most of the PH opportunities. But if you agree that he's not the "answer" there, I'm not sure what we're talking about anymore.
