If Biden was sharp and had the full capability of all his faculties they would have rushed him back out to show it. The delay is pretty damning. It says they can’t show that. They are hiding him and we maybe get some non-live interviews from favorable media, perhaps edited and Biden may have the questions before. We need like a live town hall with adversarial and favorable media asking questions in turn and lets see how he does when he’s on his feet.
at this point I think it more likely that Biden wins Trump's friendship than the election related: photo courtesy classic Russian information operation
Not sure I agree there's a delay. Hopefully, his inner circle is having some overdue earnest conversations. But anyway, I had no idea you were really considering voting for Joe Biden! You seem so interested.
new WSJ poll. link should work for everyone Trump Expands Lead Over Biden After Debate as Age Worries Grow, WSJ Poll Finds The former president is now ahead by 6 points, with 80% of voters saying the incumbent is too old to run https://www.wsj.com/politics/electi...ldshxg9naq5&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink excerpt: Donald Trump has opened a 6-point lead over President Biden among voters nationally, with 80% saying that the president is too old to run for a second term, a new Wall Street Journal poll finds. Trump’s lead over Biden in a two-person matchup, 48% to 42%, is the widest in Journal surveys dating to late 2021 and compares with a 2-point lead in February. The new survey began interviewing voters two days after the debate with Trump that left the 81-year-old Biden’s Democratic colleagues panicked about the president’s possible cognitive decline and their party’s weakening election prospects in November. The new survey contains a range of signs that Biden’s political standing has weakened, at the same time a small but growing number of Democrats are calling for him to withdraw as the party’s nominee. The share who say he is too old to run rose 7 points from the Journal’s survey in February. Some 34% now view the president in a favorable light, a low mark in Journal surveys. Less than 40% approve of his handling of inflation, immigration, the economy or his office overall. more at the link
Man, I stay out of politics nowadays, although I like to read about it. Trump sucks and I would much rather have a person with dementia be president that being said, I am super disappointed with an establishment that pretty much tried to hide this until the flop last week. Both sides are so sad.
The Democrats are putting on quite a show right now. This is UGLY and going to leave behind some very unhappy pieces of the necessary coalition to win the Presidential race. I can't see Kamala winning Pennsylvania at all, whereas I think Biden still has a small chance of winning PA. The Dems simply cannot win without PA.
I would trust Biden in a comma or on life support in a room alone with Putin 100X more than I'd trust Trump in a baseball stadium with 40,000 people where Putin happened to be. Yes if Biden was in the mental state that he was in the other night in a sitdown with Putin, it would be an issue. However we've all heard reports even from Republicans like the former speaker that they've always felt like in private talks that he is very sharp, and with it. That's why the debate was such a shocking moment for Democrats who obviously have seen that he has aged into this next period in his life, but felt like he was still able to manage the country at the presidential level with the team he has. Even with moments like the State of the Union he showed he could pull it together for a bit, but obviously we know that in normal every day interactions yes he has a lower voice, and some sort of fluid issue that can lead to him needing to clear his throat often. I know you have no ability to see a perspective other than MAGA trolling, but if you had any intellectual curiosity to see other people's perspective that's what has happened in terms of how Democrats have evaluated the situation, and were evaluating voting for him again in 2024.
