It's all between the ears for Framber.

His bad starts are usually 1 or 2 bad innings. When he gives up baserunners, it snowballs on him.

You very rarely see an outing where he is nickel and dimed for a run every couple of innings.

And I have learned that is going to happen every 3-4 starts no matter what.

If I was an opposing team, I would crowd the plate, bunt, do anything I can think of to make him think and get into his head.

That's part of the reason I think the trade return would be much better than him on this roster.

Starting him in an important game is like rolling a dice. You have no idea which Framber you will get and bad Framber snowballs so fast it's impossible to prevent it or stop it before it's too late.

But he would bring back 3+ very good and promising players.

Ain't even mad that that loss last night. April/May Astros would have just given up after going down 7-0. Not June/July Astros.

Agree with the statement that crowding the plate, bunting and stuff like that could certainly get to him.

Problem with trading him is we are trying to win a WS this year. He is someone who can go out in an ALCS and dominate the opposition. He can certainly crumble in that situation also, but he is proven that he can do it on the big stage

And the even bigger issue in my mind is he is our only true workhorse. With a staff that is already using Arrighetti and a bullpen game right now, those innings are extremely valuable.

Also, to move Framber and get legit value you would almost certainly have to be going after prospects. It would be hard to get multiple MLB players in return for him and be better off for it, unless of course one of those players last name is Guerrerro and another is Bassitt and another is Garcia

I’m all for trading him and was for it in the off season thread.
He just can not be trusted in a big game.
That being said don’t do it during the season.

    Astros are facing a LHSP

Dubon, Meyers and Chas (until/unless the team has given up on him) should be in Every lineup when that is the case.

I'm mad about it. **** that. Arrighetti pitched us out of the game early and we never recovered.

Today marks the one month anniversary of Tucker's injury (June 3rd).

    - first game of the Cardinals series
    - Astros won that game and have a 17-8 record since (26-34 ---> 43-42)
    - Houston was 7.5 games back and 3rd in the division
    - Abreu was still on the team
    - Javier's season-ending injury was announced the following day
    - Bloss was healthy
    - Verlander has pitched one game since

We have rocked Kikuchi his entire career. 1-5 against us with an ERA north of 6. Meyers, Chas, Bregman and Yordan all have great career numbers off him. Hopefully this continues tonight.

I'm as frustrated with Framber as you are but there is NO way they're trading him this year. Now if he doesn't get his act together and become more consistent like he's been in the past they very well may decide to trade him after this year. Use the money they'd be giving him in ARB next year and put that towards a more reliable SP (and whatever prospects/players you get in return).

We need to win today, the matchup is in our favor.

    Tomorrow is problematic.
