Julio struck out with a chance to tie it with a single. He’s been so bad this season.

Yeah I saw the last inning. Craig Kimbrel was trying to give it away but I guess the Mariners and Julio didn't want it..

Lol got super lucky the Big Dumper (dumbest nickname ever) hit that game tying HR barely foul. Ball looked like it was going to the moon.

Thanks for the clarity. I've been repeating "injury-free" 20x, but now I'm more informed about the Seattluck's situation.

So, my synopsis overall comparing the two teams injury-wise on a 10-scale:

    SEA - 2
    HOU - 9

Mariners have injuries, but those guys -- although playing well -- are young and unproven. Astros have more many injures, and it's from players who are more proven.

Tucker's amputated leg might reattach before September.

Royals also lost so Houston stays just 3 games back of both division and wild card.

Arrighetti is a rookie, ups and downs are usually part of the process. If you want them to grow you have to deal with some duds, but he's certainly been more good than bad the last 2 months.

Move on to the next one.

just now realized astros only scored 1 run against Blue Jays' bullpen. Hopefully tonight will be different.

Hard to say he’s been more good than bad. His era in May was 4.36 and in June it was 5.06. In his last 11 starts:

    5ip, 5er
    5ip, 2er
    6.1ip, 4er
    5ip, 3er
    6ip, 0er
    3ip, 1er
    5.2ip, 1er
    1.1ip, 7er
    4.1ip, 3er
    7ip, 0er
    4ip, 6er

So 3 really good starts in his last 11, with 6 starts that I would consider non-competitive and 2 that were so-so. He has good stuff and there’s potential for him to be a decent MoR SP but he needs more minor league seasoning. 3 of his last 4 starts have been total duds.

Kind of. Framber has thrown 4 duds in his last 11 starts. But Framber has 7 quality starts in that time, 6 with 2 er or less. So while Arrighetti was 50% crap, 20% awesome, and 30% mediocre, Framber was 40% crap and 60% awesome. Big difference.

remember Kyle Lewis, the former ROY?

Mariners better hope history doesn't repeat itself with Julio Rodriguez.

Expecting Blanco to inexplicably give up less runs per nine than his FIP* for today says.

*provided the FIP is more than 2.

In all fairness, a lot of players can look good (or horrific) in a pandemic season. (See Andre Scrubb's 1.90 ERA for a season.) He netted Cooper Hummel in a trade, who ended up on our roster a year later...
