Sure... we shouldn't worry about a president like this with such far-reaching immunity. And of course, the maga supreme court adds in protection of any conversations like this in the immunity...

It isn’t, this was hoping they would go along which they didn’t. I hope we can get it done at some point, these federalist society judges are a disgrace to the court and our nation.

Trump amplifies posts calling for televised military tribunal for Liz Cheney

Hey, right after the SCOTUS ruling too...
but don't worry! He probably isn't really interested in this stuff or means it! It won't be too bad, our conservative friends tell us once again, just like after Roe. Trust them this time, the decision won't be too bad!

Trump's charges for trying to overthrow the government are an afterthought for me. My first concern is that future presidents (Trump but also all the others) have an actual blueprint on how to do shady stuff and avoid accountability. The risk of being held accountable probably restrained some bad behavior in the past. But now peeps know how to launder their crimes.

Is this the worst Supreme Court of all time?

Looks, to many people, like the law of the land has just fundamentally shifted, and shifted away from what most people, including Mitch McConnell, thought America stood for. So, please pardon a bunch of posts illuminating ramifications of this or venting fear and frustration.

Maybe you can do the "enjoy liberal (like Esper's and Cheney's?) tears." That's always healthy, instead of looking at the underlying issue and wondering WTF will happen if you ever get a real communist in power with these new rulings. T&P

Honestly, should we now say Nixon was treated unfairly, back in the day? I know he was pardoned already, but maybe he should be fully exonerated. The OG gangsta POTUS.

Hell, Bernstein said last night he would have made it through Watergate with this type of immunity.....which I have to ask, why wasn't that brought up then? It takes a crook as Prez to come up with these absolutes whacked out scenarios........................I doubt the founders really thought about scenarios that would happen in our new wacky world.

I'm not sure how problematic the SCOTUS opinion is itself vs. a left wing spin analyzing the opinion driven to a fever pitch on the back of Biden's poor debate last week and the emotionally fragile state the Democrats appear to be in right now.

Sorry to pick on this post. But it is part of the conspiratorial mindset that makes it hard in to have any kind of reasonable discussion.

Media isn't talking about these decisions because they hope to make people forget the Biden debate disaster. They are covering it because these are major Supreme Court decisions with unknown and potentially extremely dangerous results.

The fact that people will discount the analysis of the decisions because of a supposed massive conspiracy when there has been no evidence of presented for anyone reach that conspiratorial conclusion.

That goes to show they don't believe any President should have immunity unless of course it's one of their own. They both make me sick. They are the faces of Trump loyalists, doing an about face on what they believe the constitution and democracy stand for. Why? To kiss the feet of one of the most vile humans on earth, to keep the power, even if that means throwing their integrity and beliefs out the window.
