Good teams are going to make Amen a liability with his lack of spacing options. We already are a suspect shooting team and you want to make that worse.
I can’t see the Rockets picking up anyone significant. They are so young that you just have to let them play. Get Dillon Brooks out of there though.
I'm more saying that right improvement this year (regardless of who, though I think Sengun is most likely option) and the Rockets could be contenders this year with the right superstar addition. I'm not saying this is likely. I just saying people should be open to the possibility that the Rockets are really good this year. If the Rockets are good, they likely have a short window to take advantage of FVV. I wouldn't dump everything for a Durant prior to the season, but I think Stone has to be ready in case the Rockets start of hot next season.
I'll give them the one year/expiring deals of Steven Adams, Jeff Green, Jock Landale, and Ja'Sean Tate for Ben Simmons, Nic Claxton and the 2025 and 2026 picks we just gave them back. lol
The Rockets did their annual 'big game hunting' media tactic (though I hope they do pull off a blockbuster that makes sense) to get the base riled up as usual May as well let the young bulls grow another yr, and they are banking big time on AS/JG to make that eye test leap of being that duo who got now & next I expect Smith to be better, most notably from 3/experience Amen & Cam are going to do what they do If Eason is healthy that is basically your free agent signing along with Adams coming back And they added the best (or at worst 2-3) shooter in draft, and added another young capable shooter/defender in Griffin Noble Udoka is ready for NBA combat Deja vu .....1986 >>>> 2026 C's vs. Rockets Finals
Looks like Aaron Holiday is back, I honestly want the team to just hold from here. Don't need to think about any moves until December at the earliest, let's roll with this roster and see how they do
The Rockets need to upgrade the Small Forward position, Dillion is a average basketball player and he is averaging 20 million…..averaging 12 points per game, average defender and non rebounder…we need a upgrade
...and? Good teams are going to be able to do other things as well depending on who's on the court. OKC was able to get the Rockets a couple of times by taking advantage of the spacing when Amen played with a center. Most of the time versus good teams the Rockets defense with Amen made up for the spacing issues that it was generally better than a similar unit with Brooks (Caveat: Amen needed FVV on the court). Against most teams, I doubt it will be much of a problem as they will be so worried about keeping Amen from destroying them inside that they will forget to celebrate how little spacing the Rockets have. The Rockets are not a perfect team.
Going back to what I said originally, its not so much I am against adding a superstar as I am adding one that doesn't fit our timeline. Definitely not one that is 36 years old. I suppose this addresses what I consider the right improvement, or rather, what the wrong one looks like IMO.
