What will happen to KPJ?

  1. Miles Bridges 2.0, a 30 game suspension and the whole thing is pushed under the rug

    25.6%
  2. OJ Mayo 2.0: KPJ gets a massive suspension and is all but black-balled out of the NBA

    53.8%
  3. Aaron Hernandez 2.0: Bridges serves actual hard time

    20.5%

    What we learned…

Stone used wizardry when drafting Porter’s contract here in Houston.
    AND
Porter has the ability to learn, shown by his player option in his new contract.

Most interesting thing about this is we get to test DD's theory that KPJ's an all-star caliber talent with a superstar future. I'm sure the Clippers can't wait to play him 32 mins a night as the focus of their offense...

Idk why y’all care… apparently according to some, we just drafted the next Steph Curry/Steve Nash/CP3 hybrid right out of the lab.

    :)

Most people don't mature until after they turn 25yrs old. Just.look at the NBA as a whole. At what age are players in their prime? Ages 25 - 31.

Its because they have had time to mentally and physically mature. When players are 19 - 24, they are college age. Dalton Knecht is 23, 24 and he was just drafted.

Well, with Harden dragging around at 34, Kwahi approximately the same age, PG now in Philly, the Clippers needed scoring, so we will see.

For sure, I've been told for a year how much better KPJ would've been for us, now we get to see it. I've been "reliably" informed in no uncertain terms that KPJ was a superstar talent, looking forward to seeing that in action.

He got a two year minimum salary contract - the second season is a player option in case he goes nuts, he is guaranteed money.

I hoped he would never player in the NBA again, but this is the league of second and third and fourth chances.

DD was right, he got yet another chance.

Guess we'll see from their performance this upcoming season. That's assuming your boy makes it to the end of the season without an arrest of course.

Both are born and bred AAU players.

Green has more scoring talent. KPJ shoots a little better dribbles the piss out of the ball.

I'm really shocked how confident people were here that he would never see the court again in the NBA. I am even more shocked at those who suggested he is/was an awful basketball player that brings nothing to a team. It's one thing to say he doesn't deserve it for his personal life/character it's another to pretend he's bad at basketball. Kind of like some cough cough Bobby and Jalen Green.

He's not a bad player. But he's not a good one either. I'd say he's an average to below average combo guard skill-wise. Plenty of guys in the NBA can do what he does on the basketball court. He could certainly carve out an okay career if he had the right mindset.

The reason people thought he would not be playing in the NBA was mostly because of his personality flaws, both on court and off court. On court he's a self-absorbed me-first kind of guy. Look at Christian Wood. He has the skills to be a valuable player. But nobody wants to give him a big contract because he's the same kind of selfish player who is not willing to do winning things for the team. And Wood doesn't have the same detrimental off court issues like KPJ does.

I disagree with the Wood comparison and his player attributions. Hard to say he is not willing to do the winning things for a team. He played defense more than Jalen Green did. He was as immature as everyone else seemed to be on that Silas squad. I'd say it's ENTIRELY his off court and personality issues and NOTHING to do with his basketball abilities that kept teams at bay.

I completely disagree that he's an average to below combo guard. And, barring any mental lapses, I expect to see him show that this season -- assuming he gets decent PT, which I assume he will with PG now gone.

Christian Wood on the other hand, played ZERO defense, gave ZERO hustle, and made NOBODY around him better. And to make it worse, he had an inflated ego that refused to recognize that.

KPJ can do all the things on the court, and has. He also has major mental/maturity farts -- unlike Wood -- but as a player? Miles ahead of Wood, IMO.

That said, I of course want to be wrong. I want every non-Rocket to suck.

Agree to disagree. KPJ does play more defense than Wood. But his pouting and hero ball mentality on court are the things I referred to as self-absorb to the detriment of the team. Some of it might be caused by the pampering by the Stone and Silas.
