BOOM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NAILED EVERY SINGLE THING............and posted that very day...... to all the people that argued with me over this......I will happily accept your apologies......lol ..... DD
Things are not always what is first reported - from what I heard was that it wasn't near as bad as reported - but these things usually amount to not much, as a first time charge, and his situation sounded very suspicious - people reacted to the NOISE and the social media White Knighting that is so prevalent.....but I suspected it would go down as far far less than what was reported. And, you can see a thread that went back and forth for HUNDREDS of pages about it.......saying I was wrong, or typical DD always being wrong - when I figured differently. I get reacting in the heat of the moment, and DV is a very sensitive issue - as it should be, but leaping to conclusions without any evidence is dangerous as well. DD
Nah, it shows the judicial court is not a great place whether it was the prosecutors or the guy being prosecuted. And that the NBA care about their players rather than the victims, society is never fair, millionaires stay millionaires for a reason. I am glad it is the Clippers, I really dislike Harden. Divas and delinquents.
Ah the old lack of trust in the system argument - if that is what you think, fine. And it is not the NBA's job to worry about private matters - they are in a business to make money - the law is to protect people. Mostly the system works, people overreact to what they hear at first, then it calms down evidence or lack of it gets out, and people move on to the next sensational story. Nature of social media and the point fingers and laugh society we are in...... Anyway - "My GUESS is this gets pleaded down to misdemeanor and he tries to start over somewhere - but, may have to go to Europe or China first." Sounds right....and I spent countless posts arguing it with the knee jerkers. He is gone though, and we have a team and others more important to cheer for now. DD
I knew deep inside he was going to back but I wanted him to miss out on 1-2 years developmental time, this sort of was accomplished hence I have not much to complain about. He should have been suspended regardless. He has great size at 6'4-6'5 with enough skills, he doesn't have to worry about gigs.
I could see Silver giving him 4 games or so still for the arrest, but maybe not because it will be a "Not Guilty" and with zero record. DD
It's pretty funny the lengths you'll go to in order to not admit you were wrong, DD. He is a person who can't control his temper and reacts violently when things don't go his way. It's a repeated pattern. I don't see any reason to believe he's changed in any material way. This sh*t will keep happening until he either faces real consequences or he is locked up for the foreseeable future.
Yes, it mostly does. The system is designed with a strong deference to the victim. Men think that the system should be this perfect logical construct, but the system defers to the victim by design. With fickle female victims this yields outcomes that the male mind cannot easily process. In this case the victim didn't want to press charges... The Bridges and Kurocs cases were the opposite: by all indications the victims fabricated charges out of spite... It is what it is, the system has to deal with these realities. It is not all clean, logical and mathematical...
Yea they were TANKING so he did a very good job of making horrible decisions on the court. The Rockets literally have two really good players just selected for Team USA because of those dumb ass decisions. One or both could breakout as stars next season. They even rewarded KPJ with an extension lol. No one in the organization is upset about any of that. It's just Rocket fans who still don't understand what tanking entails. Off the court is one thing, but on the court, KPJ did what he was supposed to do - find a way to lose games.
My guy said he had multiple suitors and was definitely coming back to the NBA. Rockets were front runners to sign him but drafting Reed probably changed everything. I'm thankful Reed is a Rocket. KPJ's been out of the league for a year, went to treatment and played overseas for 6 months. If all of that didn't help him change nothing will. I wish him the best. Good luck trying to score on Amen Thompson.
He didn't play 6 months, the league was about to wrap up when he joined so he probably played 6-8 games overseas. The full NBA regular season is barely 6 months long.
The timing is ironic because KPj signs to a nba contract this weekend and the girl he assaulted (ally) gets released from Indiana fever that same weekend
That's just it, he was playing out of position. I'm curious how they're going to use him in LA. He'll probably be fine there for a while, but I doubt it lasts.
