LOL I remember watching that live. Many more established old school coaches were annoyed...they were like..."what a smartass".
Congratulations to Slovakia and Georgia, both played a great tournament given their circumstances. Spain vs Germany on Friday, what a shame to see only one of them in the semis.
Spain are the heavy favorites, but their defense didn't look too stable today or against Croatia. Musiala and (I guess he will start) Sané will have space to operate. Of course we will need a Neuer/Rüdiger masterclass.
As you saw in the last German match you’ll be getting the VAR home cooked special. Good luck but I’ll be rooting for the better team, which I hope will be decided by the play on the pitch and not the video booth.
The England comeback is why soccer is so much fun to watch, there isn't another sport around to where ONE moment of brilliance can sway a single contest.......maybe Baseball with an important HR.... But dang that goal in injury time on a bicecletta was amazing. DD
It's also because of how free flowing the game is. In any American sport they might've called a timeout (or three), drawn up a play, had contingencies, etc. It would've taken an extra half hour to get there. Instead this was an improvisational moment of greatness.
France wanted it more. That's the only positive thing you can say about them so far in the whole tournament.
Surprised Ronaldo was crying after the penalty miss. He struck it well. Goalie just was better. Slovenia muffed the 1v1.
Oh boy... fighting 120 minutes, withstanding one of the tourney's favorites just to miss 3/3 penalties. Ronaldo versus Mbappé it is in the next round.
Were they once a country? They'd be a better team if they were still a country. I don't know history,
