Just tuned in… and they’re doing the cringe worthy mic’d up on the field. After the Pena incident, just read about how they’re incentivized to do this…. 10k/regular season game and 15k/playoff game…. So the players still have the final say. Ravech is making it mostly cringe-worthy though.
Dubin/King/Contreras and June Pressly hopefully better options going forward than whatever they were throwing out in April.
Joe Espada has this team playing some good ball. And at a minimum- the players are playing hard for him. He’s Navigated a ton of injuries and likely had little to no say in the Jose Abreu fiasco. Kyle Tucker, Justin Verlander, and Luis Garcia loom. All the while, this group has proven to the front office and ownership that they should be moderate buyers at the deadline(at a minimum). There’s a ton of pressure on the Mariners and their front office to do something significant and I think it’s very likely they will overpay prospect capital to try to add a bat and a bullpen arm over the next few weeks.
I say it’s 2. They don’t get credit because the schedulers let them play more games so far (half of which they’ve won by luck).
After the rain delay I was not optimistic. Pleasantly surprised with the outcome. The Astros appear to have "turned the corner" and the young guns are growing on me.
