I'm not sure that's true. Zach was injured and STILL better than Jalen AND he's still in his prime. Jalen has never been good and might never be good. Honestly I wouldn't want either of them, but LaVine has a history of being a quality player, Jalen doesn't....if I had to pick between them, it wouldn't be hard at all.
both KCP and PG would be a good offseason for the Sixers…if Embiid can’t get it done with a SL of Maxey KCP PG ? Embiid then he cements himself as a fraud
If you are a team that is contending for next season you might take Zach to be a 3rd/4th option type. If you were not in that position you would pick Jalen. Zach is way more injury-prone, way worse attitude, and is on the downside of his career. Like it or not most teams would take the healthier, younger player that still has potential over a guy that has been declining. This is not even talking about the contract difference.
I think LaVine would likely be the better player for the rest of his current deal and I sure as hell wouldn't want to be the team that has to give Jalen a new deal....to be stuck with that guy for several more seasons. Again, I don't really want either guy, but one is a LOT worse both now and likely for the next several seasons. A down season by Zach LaVine would be by far a career best season for Jalen, the two aren't close to the same performance.
