How is he an old 30? This is his 11th season in the NBA and he's not really somebody with a big injury history, especially for a big man. He's played more than 70 games in 7 of his 10 seasons so far...

That's not really true, you mean to say we need to dump the guy who is penciled in as the starting SF despite not deserving it simply because he's an Ime guy.

There's plenty of upgrades at the SF spot already on the roster....it's just a matter of allowing them to get the burn they deserve.

If it was possible to dump Brooks, you pencil Amen or Cam into that spot and immediately get an upgrade.

Sure, and he's demonstrated that he's terrible at player evaluation....which is why he's a coach and not a GM.

I am hoping the Rockets use their mid-level exception to acquire an additional shooter. The West is going to be very difficult next year - even tougher than this year. I know playing time is limited, but you never know when an injury (or trade) will leave you short handed.

New Orleans will be better. The four conference semi finalists will still be very good. Memphis will be back as a relevant team. The geriatric 4 - LAC, LAL, GS, and PHO are all still trying to contend. Utah, SA, and Portland will all try a bit more. SAC hasn’t given up.

A good free agent pickup can be moved next offseason and won’t impact cap space. Also, a good pickup will be another asset to be included in a trade if a “star” becomes available. I would target Deanthony Melton, Jalen Smith, or Luke Kennard.

The only way I’d want the rockets to add another player is if they pulled off at least a minor consolidation trade. We simply don’t have any more minutes available.

I think the West going to get easier. PG is off the clippers and is going East, Klay is going to Dallas, LAL haven’t done anything to help their squad yet, Phoenix can’t get better, but still too good for the Rockets to overtake. Don’t know why you predict that the Pels will be better especially if they move Ingram. Utah, SA, Portland will all still suck. Memphis will be better. The only teams definitively better to start are OKC, Dallas, Sac, Phoenix, Minnesota and Memphis. I think adding a shooter that could start if Jalen fails is the only thing we need to do. Not that easy to do, but my targets are Beasley or Brogdon.

Rockets rumored to a list of aging or injury-prone players: Durant, Paul George, Zion, Brook Lopez. Hard to be intrigued by any of these risky options, but if you put a gun to my head, and forced me to pick one, it would be KD

Why do people like Jalen Smith so much? He has both a low motor and low ball IQ. Sometimes it looks like the guy doesn't even know where to stand. He just shuffles around aimlessly.

    Probably numbers.

It's no different than people being fascinated by Christian Wood and then we had him here and well we found out quickly why no one really wanted him.

im just hoping the teams ahead of us get weaker.

    -Denver
    -Clippers
    -GS

Especially Clippers and GS, if they lose PG and Klay while both teams are aging, we can compete with them for the play in.

This is already known/speculated so not breaking news, but from the horses mouth....Holiday is very unlikely to return to the Rockets.

As I’ve said before i think we need a consolidation trade if we are going to bring in other players. Can’t help but think that if we just keep surrounding our core with shooters we can have something special. I was surprised Memphis didn’t pick up Kennard’s option, but I guess they were up against the first apron. One of the best 3pt shooters in the league. I think he’s worth MLE money.

The analytics say nothing about his motor? Have you watched him play? He's worse than Wood. He just loafs around the court. His VORP isn't exactly impressive either. There's a reason he doesn't play.
