I don’t like to complain about losing sports bets, especially since I just bet small amounts for fun, but wow the Mets bullpen burned me multiple times early this season… By far the worst loss by any team this season was the Mets losing to the shitty Marlins after being up 4 runs in the 9th with 2 outs and bases empty. Edwin Diaz proceeded to give up 4 runs, the game went into extras where the Mets failed to score the ghost runner, and I am pretty sure the first batter in the 10th for the Marlins drove in the winning run.
Should have Dubin go 3 with Contreras, King, Montero, Martinez, Abreu, and Hader available in relief (6 guys to get 6 innings). But extra innings tomorrow would be a disaster. My guess is they’ll try to get multiple innings from Contreras and King and save Martinez for extras if necessary.
He has a fixation around a set of ideas: the perfect ErA, the perfect pitch and perfect umps. We failed Framber. Instead of protecting him by making routine plays, It just made him take matters into his own hands. He must be stopped.
Martinez should be able to go 2 innings tomorrow. Abreu hasn’t pitched in over a week now so he should also be available for 2 depending on the situation. Personally, I’d try to get 3 from Dubin and then Martinez for 2. If we are leading, I’d run Abreu out there for the 6th and 7th. Unless we are losing by 2+ runs, Montero should not see the mound.
What’s your point? He’s thrown 2 innings and then pitched an inning the next day already this season once. Then he pitched the day after that. He didn’t throw many pitches today either.
