Red Sox and Royals lose, Astros now only 2 behind in the loss column to both teams. And we are guaranteed a loss by either the Twins or Mariners. We are only 4 behind in the loss column to both teams.
Astros largest comeback win of the season -- 1-6 ---> 9-6 Bullpen pitches a shutout after Framber goes psycho. Offense does work... clutch-style Astros overcome another crap umpiring job -- these bulls*** calls need to stop. It's been happening all season. .
I would say it’s unimaginable how horrific the Mets bullpen has been this year… but the Astros have actually made it quite close. At least they’re on the upswing and haven’t had one of those meltdowns since Anaheim earlier this month.
So if I extrapolate Dubon's ABs to a full season, that's 90 RBIs and a near .300 batting average. Wouldn't we be satisfied with that at first base?
Maybe Dusty had a point about Chas being heavy/overweight and needing to be more disciplined. Seems like he came into the season out of shape and he can't find his footing...
2B Altuve 3B Bregman DH Alvarez RF Tucker C Diaz/Caratini CF Meyers/McCormick SS Pena 1B Dubon/Singleton LF Loperfido/McCormick That sure looks like a 5 1/2 run per game offense to me. There is not a bad bat in the lineup.
The big 3 in our bullpen has now lowered their collective era under 3.5 for the very first time at 3.47. That number needs to be at 2.75 by season's end, which means it will need to be 2.00 the second half of the season. Since Apr 24 1.65 Abreu 2.86 Pressly 2.08 Hader 2.15 Collectively Add in Scott and Martinez, and that's a very strong 5 deep to cover the 7th-9th innings. I would still make a move for a Graveman type pitcher at the trade deadline. That eliminates the need to ever see Montero except for mop up duties.
