Beryl isn't expected to be at/near Cuba until Wednesday, so the TRA has a decent - good chance of doing what they need to do for their situation. National Hurricane Center
Im supposed to be heading on a cruise this Sunday for 7 days going to Roatan, Cozumel, and Costa Maya which is like right where that X is. I’m not seeing anything on what days it would be projected to hit in that area though. My guess is Thursday through Sunday?? You seeing anything more on those projections?!
Is the plausible deniability? There’s obviously an issue that could be very dangerous if it comes to light…. Why not fix it rather than stand behind logistics or “we’re acknowledging it based on our action plan”
Yeah but I’m assuming now unless something changes with this trajectory, the boat probably stays far away from the Yucatán. I wonder if in this case they just put around the gulf or even just stay in port. I’m not a cruise expert but that’s my assumption.
I wouldn't worry. They haven't bothered to say anything else--including what the potential failure might be--since the notification. By the way, Lake Livingston provides 57% of Houston's drinking water.
It felt kind of hot today. I guess it didn't help I hedge clipped about 27 varying size boxwood shrubs surrounding my pool to be super smooth in 95 degree heat. Did it with a towel over my head and under my work hat. Took two 5 minute breaks but finished strong like bull. Anyway, two squirrels came along and they got on the top of this 8 foot boxwood mushroom-looking shrub that I just smoothed and one was splatting on top of it and another was down low with it's tail sticking down. There was a bit of a breeze. But, at one point, one of the squirrels was hopping between similar-sized boxwoods around the pool. It was kind of funny. I took some shots but they were a ways away so not sure worth posting. They were watching my every move there. If something good, then I'll post it.
I conducted an experiment on my HVAC AC system/Lyric Thermostat. Parameters: 100 degrees F outside, 80 degrees F inside (set on thermostat with 'Auto') Normal runtime for AC and then break time for my conditions/dwelling: 12 minutes AC on / 8 minutes off equal 36 minutes AC on / 24 minutes off per hour Now, point a Lasko Cyclone fan on 'Low' at the Lyric Thermostat and monitor. New runtime for AC and then break time for same conditions/dwelling: 8 minutes AC on / 12 minutes off equals 24 minutes AC on / 36 minutes off per hour Add that up for a month and that is not insignificant. That's 12 minutes saved an hour. That's 12 minutes times 16 hours a day with HVAC on (in my case; HVAC off at night; use a window AC unit at night) equals 192 minutes or 3 hours 28 minutes of additional minutes not running my AC for the day. Mutiply that times 31 days for the month and comes out to 5,952 minutes or 99.2 additional hours a month not running the AC meaning 100 additional hours a month of not running Central AC savings for these conditions. I read about this. People were complaining about ceiling fan wind affecting thermostat temps. The breeze on the thermostat makes it think it is cooler. So, it doesn't run as much and has more break time. I'm definitely sticking with this. The only downside is the house feels slightly warmer up until it kicks on again per the added 4 minutes of break time. But, counter with a small fan. What a fun experiment! So, we have two flavors of 80 degrees F set at my house...the Premium 80 and the Choice 80.
Finally get a summer storm in DFW around 3 - 6 am with some good rain and some wind…and Spectrum Internet goes down for 13 hours and counting. Good gawd, man!
