Gonna be interesting. JJ coaching Lebron and his son for the first time.
    Gonna be a fun year.

As soon as they drafted Bronny, I gave Redick zero chance at success. I don't dislike him or anything, but what a circus that's going to be, and without that good of a roster. Imagine determining rotations when the GOAT's son is sitting there on the bench and the GOAT is a notorious coach killer and micromanager of play calling and rotations.

Redick probably understands this and is just going to solidify his bank account before a return to podcasting.

Bronny will almost certainly start in the g-league and Lebron will be find with it. Don’t get me wrong if anyone would be an a-hole about playing his son it would be the king of a-holes, but I don’t think Lebron wants his son to be embarrassed this early in his career (if he even has one). Nobody would have drafted him but the Lakers. He is probably not a starter on a good college team, much less an NBA team.

That's a good take. Lebron is many things but not dumb.

It just seems like there will be pressure to realize the fantasy, at some point, to have father and son on the same court. I'm just picturing Anthony Davis, older, again out for like 15-20 games in the first half of the season, the Lakers below 500, Lebron chirping about lack of weapons and maybe needing to try some new blood, etc. But hopefully the Rockets will be above 500 and the problems in LA will be absolutely glorious.

LeBron is going on kill mode if he plays with his son. Also, drafting bronny was inevitable.

Don’t be surprised if Lakers ask for Alpi

As a talent I suppose, but financially speaking probably not.

Lebron inked his 2-year extension this summer. Without changes, LAL is due an extra tax bill of over $50m next season.

AD and Lebron each making 50 mil a year. Alp is due for his first extension; which whatever the number Alp end up getting, will add to Jeanie's lux tax significantly.

Lot of these already spending teams should try to make due with what they have.

I like J.J. Redick but he really is in a no-win situation. I am not crazy about LeBron (although I do admire him coming back to Cleveland and helping them win their first NBA title) but surely he realizes that Bronny is not NBA ready and he would not expect him to play major minutes.

For some reason I see Bronny doing really well. But he will need to be in the lineup with his dad for that to happen.

Russell is a decent player on an expiring contract. The Lakers could get a good player that a team doesn't need or want with more years left on his contract. Couple Russell with Hachimura and you get a player with a contract in the 30s.
