I feel your pain. I don't have COVID but I have pneumonia. Sitting here on the couch the bathroom is 40 ft away and it looks so far away. Might need to puff on the inhaler to get there. Fun times. At least I stopped coughing up blood a few days ago.

    the whole world's laughing.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cjr4dd50yk2o

A weak Joe Biden self-destructed in front of the whole world, while an aggressive Donald Trump told lies and mangled his sentences in a presidential debate that was like a reality show, according to international media.

The verdicts of pundits from around the globe to Thursday night’s televised clash in Atlanta, Georgia, between the two White House rivals was damning.

From Beijing to New Delhi and beyond, the reviews were most scathing of President Biden’s performance at the CNN forum, but his Republican challenger did not escape criticism.

Ynet’s veteran defence analyst, Ron Ben-Yishai said: "Trump is now seen as a candidate whose victory in the presidential elections is almost certain, and all the actors and elements, from Russia and Ukraine to Israel and Saudi Arabia, and also Iran, will conduct themselves from now on according to this assumption."

Ben-Yishai said certain elements in Israel ”are already rubbing their hands with joy” at the prospect of a second Trump presidency.

“Looking at… the list of lies and distortions that both leaders told, one wonders which of them American voters will elect to wreak havoc on the world,” veteran journalist Murat Yetkin said on his YouTube channel.

a bit of punctuation would better help get your point across, whatever it might have been.

It's all good, I can tell you're wound up about last night. This is the first time in a while that you're posting actual opinionated text instead of links lol.

The first thing I must note when reading this is the disconnect from what I originally replied to. Which was about the claim of Biden going "full Bernie". You have to remember, I'm a person who genuinely likes most of Bernie's policy positions, and would be absolutely pumped if Biden were close to resembling "full on" him politically and policy-wise.

The 2nd thing I'd note is I can tell we genuinely see the political world from very different perspectives.

If you would have originally said "I think Biden has swung more left since 1988, or since campaigning in 2020, I would agree. I would disagree that it's been a negative thing for our country for the most part, as you know, I tend to favor left economic policy, I would note though, that I'm not particularly heavily socially progressive, so for all of the things some of you guys like to call "woke" I don't really care too much about one way or the other, I'd say I'm socially libertarian instead of progressive or left, which is again, not the case economically.

I acknowledge and appreciate that Biden has been further left (on economic policy) than advertised from the campaign, but I disagree on him being anywhere close to Bernie, go ook at what Bernie was campaigning on again and tell me how much of that Biden is accomplishing or campaigning on right now.

I also believe a lot of Bidens "progressiveness" has little to do with his personal positions (a key distinction from a person like Bernie) and more to do with being a product of the times and where the party/his cabinet is in today's age.

On his social policy/positions, I have to admit, I don't follow that much at all and can't really comment on it. I'd agree that being ultra-progressive on social issues is probably not a good idea for electability with moderate/swing republican voters.

I'd also note that I think Bernie was mostly focused on economics as a candidate and only went along with as much of the "woke" stuff as he had to be accepted politically, not that I think he has bad positions on that front, he was big on civil rights/gay rights very early on in his career, but I don't think you'd catch him campaigning on drag shows or whatever is the hot topic these days.

Like this as an example, I wasn't aware Bernie was for an open-border policy.
Bernie Sanders says he does not support open borders
I genuinely don't have strong emotions toward individual players and am a team-first fan. I use this trait as an advantage to troll/make jokes, and honest assessments that I think homerism doesn't quite allow others to make. I don't consider myself to be a Sengun hater by any means, I have the general questions about his D, but if he leads this team to success I'm as happy as anybody else.

Another thing Is I don't see anybody giving a **** about his policy positions from last night on the national scale, perhaps that's different for you, but I don't think people were watching and saying "Oh my god, look at how far left he's gone!", it's "Oh my god, he needs to retire today, he doesn't seem anywhere close to being fit to be president right now, let alone 4 more years".

At least that's my take, and yes, the pundits and politicians denying that his condition is a problem, in regards to his campaign for re-election, should be ashamed. Biden being the Democratic nominee right now is stupid, perhaps selfish? and then stupid again. The Democratic party looks like certified, grade A dipshit-morons for this.

his policy positions no longer mean a thing. What matters is he no longer appears capable of functioning at anything even close to a presidential level. The NY Times tonight called for him to step down, I'm sure others will follow.

Because Donald Trump' ego will not allow him to put someone in a position of power who he truly knows is much smarter than himself.

People brought their popcorn for the show, not to debate policy. This was an entertainment event. It was the Colosseum and both fighters we brought for a spectacle.

In retrospect, I didn't think it would go this bad ... and that is a low bar. I actually feel pretty bad about it all together. Two elderly men fighting and they only showed real energy when they mocked each others golf game.
