if it’s not Whitmer, then it has to be Newsom…talk about California all u want, but he would destroy Trump on a debate stage and is fully capable of touting Dem successes the last 4 years and calling out republican failures and their constant barrage of nonsense and lies…plus he is young and has energy

I might have missed it, but Biden ever even mention Project 2025 last night? He just sat there as Trump spewed a million lies unchecked

Pete would probably be the best right now technically speaking, but his sexual orientation and nonexistent minority support gives him no chance, let’s just be real

Kamala is basically a more unlikable less experienced version of Hillary Clinton…we already saw how that went

I can not imagine a Michelle Obama ever actually wanting to run for President

I don’t recall the words Project 2025 mentioned once. Biden mentioned the general idea that Trump wants to tear down institutions. Biden couldn’t even get his closing argument down. I bet he missed about half of the key points he was supposed to emphasize from debate prep.

He missed every key point by not being able to speak coherently. A debate against Trump should be a slam dunk...having a candidate that can't wipe the floor with him even with zero preparation is pathetic. Biden had a week of prep.

That would be a problem for Newsome since electors can't vote for two candidates from their home state. Meaning the CA delegates wouldn't be able to vote for Harris for VP. It would lead to the weird possibility that Newsome becomes president with whoever the Republican candidate is as VP.

It's a possibility that exists for a (for instance) Trump - Cruz or Trump - DeSantis ticket. But Trump is never going to choose either of those guys, anyway, and he can always change residency back to NY.

Whitmer, Pritzker, Newsom, Warnock, Moore, Beshear, Kelly.

There's also a handful of 2020 retreads who may pop up. Booker, Klobuchar, Castro, Buttigieg, etc.

IMO if they replace Biden it will be due to sudden undisclosed medical reasons.

They can't have him step down due to the mental stuff. If that happened it would make the party look bad.

    Bad is a spectrum.

Better to retain plausible deniability rather than just pulling a Trump and claiming it never happened, lol.

What if we just didn't have a POTUS for the next 4 years? Couldn't we get by without one for a few years?

We can go back to having one again in 2028 when Trump and Biden are both dead.

It needs to be Obama. She is a good talker and has no baggage. Experience is not a strength in modern politics.

although she's got plenty of experience--eight years in the White House. Can't get much more relevant experience than that

That bridge washed out months ago, my friend. That price has already been baked in. Now they are trying to figure out how to get across the bridge
