I just don't know why I'm being quoted about stats in the first place lmao, I give up. I'm getting quoted about stats and who Jalen played well against and all I wrote was "Yeha you're right, the Rockets keep using Jalen to represent the team publicly on things like draft night because the experiment's "over." It's so funny watching y'all confirmation bias yourselves into a separate reality." Like they're having a completely different discussion I'm not even part of and quoting me like I am. Do you see my perspective yet? It's crazy lmao.
Yeah I can see the way that unfolded in a strange way, but I think in the one particular case of VC, he was just making a passing comment about a ridiculous statement made by the guy you were debating with. It was more to say "that dude champboy needs to look at the game logs instead of making sh*t up". I don't think it was intended to be all that deep or meaningful. You know what I mean?
Nope. That's exactly his cap hold ($35m/season), so we gain nothing by doing that and take on the risk of a big contract before he's had a good consistent and more efficient season. If somehow he'd accept $150m/5yrs that would at least give us $5-6m in extra 2025 cap room in exchange for securing him. I honestly don't see a deal that works for Green and the Rockets. Green is not going to accept less than Quickley, and he has not proven himself as much as Quickley while being more talented. The Rockets have no incentive to take on risk when they have him restricted. Waiting for restricted free agency seems to be the best and safest path for him/us.
This coming from the biggest fan of the actual biggest brat I've ever seen on this team on and off the court. The one and only... The head honcho. I know this dude's got me on ignore so I won't bother asking him when JG acted like an "entitled brat", but I don't see it. Even when he got benched in those 4th quarters, he never made a big deal about it. I'm sure he wasn't happy, but all he did was continue to work harder and Ime never benched him again. That's not what entitled brats do. No, entitled brats do things like refusing to come off the court when being subbed because he's playing like ish. Or getting into a fight with your coach because your locker was moved. How about throwing soup at the coach who is going out of his way to try and help you, because you were being benched for playing like ish. Oh and let's not forget, beating up your girlfriend because you've been out all night getting drunk and she's upset. DD you're obviously a great judge of character.
Was it his rookie or sophomore season where in reference to Sengun he said "Alperen Sengun always, Jalen Green sometimes" in reference to Sengun showing more so far. He's very aware that he needs to do more. Ya so don't know where the "entitled brat" comes from.
Its pointless to interact with people who have predispositions. Thats the whole point! I dont even direct quote the crazies anymore because its nothing but circular arguments. You're just wound too tight that you're ready to swing on anyone you deem contrarian and you jumped the shark on this one. Its all good. Max contract is just another way for people to shade Jalen with whether he deserves it or not. Reductive reasoning 101.
I am probably one of those viewed as extremely predisposed. But my predispositions are not encased in cement. If the scenery changes, so will my opinions.
I think he gets until the deadline to prove he's worth it. If he doesn't, trade him for what you can get (hopefully as a principal piece for a star) and get behind Amen, Cam and Reed.
Or the "I hope I am wrong but,..." But a bit more seriously, I am one of those that nearly always has more than one opinion on a matter. Often times, contradicting each other. While often (mostly), I probably come across as completely entrenched in the opinion I share, its more about it being the loudest in my head at that particular moment than anything else.
Centrism is one of the secrets of the universe. Being able to remain steadfast even when faced with the absolute worst possible scenario is a gift. Developing teenagers into NBA stars is not a linear path. When guys see with their own two eyes special traits and the ceiling of a player like Jalen on display and talk themselves out of it because of consistency fears at age 22 then how invested were they in the player to begin with? Bias creeps in on both sides as an understandable aspect of our humanity, but the lengths some guys are going to stay arms crossed and defiant in respect to Jalen is wild to me when the basis of the argument in his efficiency and shooting numbers boils down to an extra made shot over 3-5 games.
There is only a handful of things in all of my reality that I am 100%, unequivocally sure about, and none of them have anything to do with sports. But there is a plethora of things I am 99% sure about
Immanuel Quickly must have the best agent of all time. How da heck did he get this contract? This makes me really worried. As bad as Jalen has been he's better than IQ. This set a ridiculous market value.
We can not pay Jalen the MAX for being a average defender and below average shooting the last three years. Stone was shock that Jalen came to the draft, he was not asked. Stone said,, “He was shocked Jalen was there.” Of course Jalen would be there…Reed is going to take his spot on the team…he was saving face.
That new 75B TV deal is going to push salary caps higher each year. These "bad" contracts will be common until everyone acclimates to the new "normal".
