This is wrong, Ime is ruthless if Cam is better he will start. Jalen is on the clock, it is **** or get off the pot time for our entitled brat. Or it will be Chapters X - the bench. DD
I don't doubt Ime's ruthlessness but I doubt if he has enough control and autonomy to make this decision. At the end of the day the GM is your boss and if the GM says Jalen is the starter then Jalen is the starter.
Just trying to find a situation where someone averaging more turnovers than assists who had the same scoring efficiency as rookie Jalen Green but on significantly less self creation is going to out play Green. I don't understand your obsessive hate for Cam. You know very well every player you show praise on this message board fails in the NBA. Why do you want Cam to fail?
Are you taking into consideration we've heard from resident insider (Nook) that Udoka's influence in the front office is growing? I believe the quote was "this is Udoka's team now". IMO Udoka would go straight to ownership and embarrass Stone. I think Tilman/Patrick would side with Udoka. Udoka doesn't strike me as a guy who would accept a non-basketball guy having control over who starts. If Stone has any brains whatsoever, he will understand that this won't go well for him. I could also see it go down like: "Just keep starting him for a week or two, I will trade him so that we don't have to bench him".
No, I haven't heard that, didn't read or see that post. I don't know anything about it. But in general, the GM is the coach's boss, and people typically ignore this fact and act like coaches have carte blanche to do whatever they want. It's a very common thing for front offices to force their coaches to prioritize development, showcase players for trades, or any other organizational goal that doesn't align with short term winning. The scenario you gave in your post is a good example of what I'm talking about.
Personally felt a little anxious for him being there, I don't think there was 0% chance of him being traded on draft night and Stone didn't even know he was going until 2 hours before. Although this year seems very quiet on the trade front, my guess is there is less movement because the draft is so weak an the draft prospects of a shiny new potential star is what tends to make things happen since a lot of teams are getting potential franchise altering players in a deep draft.
The last three years, Jalen is a below average shooter. His field goal percentage has never been over 43% and his 3 point percentage has never been over 35%. He is no more than a average defender.
Jalen played one month of elite basketball against bad teams who did not play defense at all. In the month of April, against good teams and good defense he came back to earth…..you guys want to pay him the max….still?
My problem with him is his consitency - and I am not just talking about hitting his shots. Way too often has he played timid and didn't try to take over games. Weak drives, settling for jumpers or just being a passive part of the offense. That one month was different - and I don't think it was only the opposition. And we have seen that from him every season after the all-star break. I want this mentality from him every game. He will have cold streaks shooting the ball and he will have trouble against great defenses, but I want him to attack and put his stamp on every game. If he does that, I am fine with giving him a max extension, but I have my doubts of this happening. Another slow start to the season and more lackluster efforts and he should be traded. I wouldn't bench him, because that would tank his value - right now he is still a high upside really young guy, that might benefit from a change of scenery. Benching him would basically label him as a bust. But I really do hope, that he can find stability in the way he is attacking the game.
I’m just telling you it’s not over, my guy. You can throw out whatever opinion you want, but it seems pretty evident the experiment isn’t over.
Tell em bro. They want us to believe Ime Udoka is soft and gives out undeserved compliments. Here he compares Sengun/Green to Tatum/Brown and says any team in the NBA would love to have them. You have to ignore the facts to believe Udoka is pessimistic about Green's future.
In certain aspects Cam was better than Jalen even last year, however, Jalen was a better perimeter creator and ball handler, and Ime wanted that on the court. I doubt that this year Cam will get to jalen's level in those aspects, so if Ime still wants creation from the perimeter and some ball-handling relief for Fred, he will likely stick with Green in the starting unit. For Cam to start over Jalen, two things need to happen: 1. Cam would have to get better in situational awareness, that's a big issue for Ime, the so called "youth mistakes" must go down. 2. Ime would have to change the Offensive distribution of the starting unit, and forego perimeter creation. ramp-up SenHub possessions, let Jabari cook a little bit (I think he can).... maaaaaybe give Cam some limited isos and PnRs, but in no way the same number as what Jalen was getting. Cam is a finisher, not a creator, and I doubt this changes in Yr2
Where did I say anything about a max contract? Nice attempt at a straw man, the fact remains you all think he's "done" and about to be traded. In truth he'll be the starting SG getting 30+ mins a night lol.
I'm confused, what research did I need to do? Seriously, why do people keep quoting me and then typing messages completely unrelated to the post they're quoting? It's ****ing weird man.
Whoa - collateral damage chief. Relax. Type softly. I sent you the game logs so that you could put eyes on all the "Jalen Green only plays well vs bad teams/defense" malarkey. Thats one hell of a blood pressure reading to start the day my guy!
Nah there's no stress, it's just pointless being quoted about things you weren't even discussing in the first place. I already know the stats, I probably post as many Jalen stats as any of his other fans, I just wasn't discussing that in the slightest at all. Maybe you were wanting to quote the other person? I was literally responding to somebody who was banging on about max contracts in response to me simply saying "yes, they're trading Jalen, that's why they keep using him in all of their promotional materials." **** knows why you and the other guy are going on about max contracts or who he plays well against, I wasn't part of that discussion...
Dude I think you're misunderstanding @Verbal Christ here. He was just trying to help you pile on those idiots and have a laugh at them. I don't think the implication was that you don't know the stats.
