Bronny is the only reason to exist today. The. Only. Reason.

I believe JG has been doing more work now. Offseason he looks much more jacked than previous years.

Its actually interesting cuz Bari looks like he slimmed down (looks like Poku now) while Jalen bulked up. We'll see who had the right plan.

    Agreed!

    Signed,

    Steph Curry/Allen Iverson/James Harden/Isiah Thomas/Steve Nash

Sheppard played at Kentucky and played 30 minutes a game last year.... he wasn't spending all of his time playing Northern Central State.

Team will have to decide whether to target Sheppard or Green.

Again, he isn't just a spot up shooter - and he was hitting shots from 30+ feet out as well, so if they want to spot him out there, they can go right ahead.

    Really?

Fredette as a freshman played in the Moutain West Conference and shot 40% from the field and 31% from 3.

    There really isn't a comparison.

Ask his coach? Could it because he had other lottery level players on the team?

I am sure he will at some point get a chance to shoot it more - he clearly likes to, evidenced by his isolations at the end of games and in key possessions where he did anything but spot up.

Green has been consistently getting stronger - I think he just needs to work on his skills more, especially shooting.

My question to you is how do you know his stagnation is shooting splits is a result of bad training or a result of a new team role and having to adjust to expending a lot more energy on defense?

From year one to two he increased his ppg by 5 and increased his self creation rate by 10% so it makes sense that he can improve but still hover with similar efficiency due to a significant bump in production.

From second to third season it could be due to new roles and trying on defense giving him more tired legs where he might need a season or two under his belt playing like this to get the conditioning down.

    That's funny.

Reed Sheppard as a starter: 25 Asts to 17 turnovers. That's garbage.

Just wait until he faces NBA second units.....they tend to be better than college starters.
    _______________

So many have come out wanting me to lie.....ok:

I expect Reed Sheppard to be first team all offense in year 1
    ........all defense by year 2
.........Greatest 3-point shooter of all time by age 24
.........slam dunk leader (game action in regular season) by year 2
..........Ast leader (season) in year 1
..........leading All Star vote getter by year 2
    ..........All Star in rookie season
..........leading actor in MCU Avengers movies as the new Hawkeye by 2025
    ..........Oscar award winner in 2025
..........save 36 kids from a burning orphanage (no kid left behind) how's that for Ast-Turnover?
Yeah. Yeah, Rah, Rah go team of homers.

And his final season? Point is Fredette was killing it before entering NBA and couldn't make it.
You are judging Sheppard on small sample size that could be "one hit wonder stuff."

How many 3PA's did Fredette have per game.

Fredette didn't have good players with him.....so he had 4 players at least keying on him.

It is based on both. He is more consistent in setting himself before he shoots but he isn't consistent enough and his percentages are not good enough.

He also has started multiple seasons slow - which is a red flag that his off-season workouts may not be the best for him.

As for the number of years he has been in the league, after awhile they start to fade together for me. I would have to sit and think for a few whether Sengun has 2-3 years.

    @Nook

    https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/jimmer-fredette-1.html

Read me back the awards for Fredette?
    AP player of the Year
    Consensus All American
    Rupp Trophy
    Naismith Award
    Wooden Award
    what else?

    What were Reed Sheppard awards?
    https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/reed-sheppard-2.html

    SEC ROY
    SEC freshman of the year
    All SEC team

ahh too bad his only awards were in the SEC...
.his true greatness didn't seem to spill over nationally.....not like Jimmer

Like I said before the draft.....some of you are thinking #3 pick is turning a crapping draft
class coal to diamonds. Actually we just paid a high price for coal at #3.

I doubt that the people on ESPN's draft panel are being honest about these players. o_O Sounds like all of them will be great successes.

What? Fredette was 4 years older than Sheppard when he entered the league - that is a MASSIVE difference.

I am judging Sheppard on a small sample size? I am judging him on his entire season... a season where his worst month shooting the ball was still 48% from 3.

I am supposed to penalize Sheppard because he was so good in his one season of basketball that he could go pro - while Fredette wasn't even a possibly NBA player until the end of his junior season?

It is just odd - FWIW if you want a player that is more like Sheppard, that would be Jalen Brunson from Stevenson High School in Chicago.

Again............ Sheppard was a 18-19 year old Freshman, that won Freshman of the year and had the most efficient freshman season in nearly 30 years.

What does that have to do with a 23-year-old player 20 years ago that played in a lower conference ?

They really aren't even that similar of players.

No - that isn't a reasonable expectation for him.

I have never said that he was going to be anything like that.

I don't know how good he will or will not end up being in the NBA, as I have not seen him shoot in volume and he is 19 years old.

What I do know is that his game isn't similar to a lot of the players he is being compared to.

I think a medium outcome for him would be a better version of Grayson Allen. Someone that is very efficient, can shoot from the outside, can pass some and can defend well in certain match ups. What I don't know is how he will handle a higher volume of shots.
