lol … Yeah, becoming a good three-point shooter is just a season away for every player. Remember when Dwight Howard was bad at free throws and he fixed it in one off-season?

I think the Hornets surprised them with the Salaun pick. I suspect he had a guarantee at #8 when he got "injured" during his SA workout.

Forgot about this lol. Spurs got UNO reversed three times in one draft. Once by the Rockets, once by the Hornets and once by the T-Wolves.

People are just convincing themselves that stone did some magic ****.

when all he did was select who he wanted at 3.

Im surprised the Spurs gave away Dillingham for scraps. They'll kick themselves for that one.

I don't think Stone outsmarted the Spurs. I'm glad he kept his cards close to his chest.

The same for Reed...he's not taking Van Vleet spot or taking minutes away from Cam Whitmore...I'm just saying with Castle's physical dimensions with the potential of developing a 3pt shot outweighs Reed Shepherds lack of physical dimensions with already having a 3pt shot

This really was a super dumb move. I wish we could have gotten in on it. Both he and Sheppard would go to RGV and the competition would be on. Dillingham is going to be a great offensive player. He will have a role in this league.

Castle can't shoot right now...look at how Amen Thompson progressed in the 2nd half of the season: his 3pt shot was broke, but he impacted the game in other areas that helped us with our winning streak! Once Amen develops a 3pt shot, he will surplant Dillon Brooks spot and will be a future fringed All-Star.
Castle impacts the game in a similar way like Amen.
However, Reed Shepherd is a better fit for our current roster, but Castle has the higher upside

2 different type of players...look at Dwight Howard's built and hand size...those factors affect free throw shooting.
Also, let's apply your conceptual thinking with Amen Thompson: he shot 14% from Three last season. Does this makes Amen's ceiling lower compared to Reed Shepherd?

Heard Stone offered smokes to the Spurs' F.O

There is no doubt in my mind the Spurs would have taken Reed at #4 if the Rockets don't take him. But I think they were more than fine if the Rockets made Reed the pick. Like that one post said, they were sitting in the perfect spot with options for options at #4. They definitely got bamboozled by the Hornets.

Hornets Tidjane Salaun knocked out the Spurs.

The GM Brian Wright of the Spurs. He is horrendous at Drafting. Way worse than RC Buford.

Joshua Primo drafted over Alperen Sengun
Primo is out of the league, due to harassment of women inside the organization. Disaster.

Dillingham would have highlighted Wemby even more. Made sense because Wemby erases every defensive lapse by his teammates. They could have afforded to roster a 'bad' defensive player that creates for himself and others, scores with ease from all 3 levels and gets to the rim at will.

Minny did well by identifying Dillingham as worthy of a move up and they didnt even have to pony up anything considered meaningful. He will help that team a ton.

Regardless, they still got Wemby and we don’t…They were lucky!! Sucks as I hate the Spurs and Wemby is indeed the next great thing…

lol. Yeah. This is why Jalen, Amen, Sengun, FVV, Brooks and Bari are such reliable, consistent 40% 3 point shooters!

Just want to say that not only was it not ever reported or alleged that the Spurs tried to move up to 1 to outflank the Rockets but Zach Lowe just affirmatively reported today that they never even seriously tried to move up to 1.

But other than that the story checks out

That's the value of Wembanyama -he effectively outflanks you every time he reaches behind and scratches his butt due to his freakish dimensions.

When he wipes it's like the encirclement of Paulus 6th Army Group at Stalingrad.
