That's what we need him to do more of this season. An ave of 3.3 assists and 2.3 turnovers is not good. That, and improve his shot proficiency, especially from behind the arc. This will be his 4th year as a starter and the time to prove his value in that long term contract.
How many of those 225 games did he play like crap and throw tons of goose eggs from behind the arc, or get blocked on a layup?
Green will get better, and that's a good player Problem is he will usually dominate lesser teams and play like more of a role player in bigger games against teams that defend He isn't a shooter. A great defender will make him shoot. A great defensive team will make him shoot. Against lesser teams he will be able to get into the paint and dominate them. It's who he is Anyone expecting him to develop into a superstar are going to be very disappointed. Those who want him to get a little better, and be good enough to be the 3rd best player on a championship caliber team...I think he can be that
He definitely can be better than that. Is that a likely scenario you explained. Ya. But he definitely can be better and saying he doesn't perform well against the best competition at age 21--22 isn't saying much. He's had great games against teams like The Lakers Wolves and Thunder.
Go look up the game logs vs “contenders” and see who is really shrinking in those games you will be surprised.
FIRST TO GREET.. fellow CAA boys [professional representation].. will other CAA vets join them......PG.....KAT...maybe
With players like Amen and now Reed Sheppard, who are excellent transition passers, I expect to see lots of awesome dunks by Mr. Green this upcoming season! It's pretty much make or break--Jalen needs to get way more consistent shooting the ball to become the offensive player we all hope he will become. He's got a whole summer to make it happen
Why on earth would your 3rd playmaker have more than 3.3 assists in one of the worst offenses in the NBA? His role was to try to score. 2.3 turnovers is normal, players who drive to the rim a lot get turnovers. It's like I said last season, if Jalen improved his scoring, they would have been whining about his defense. Since Jalen improved his defense, they are whining about his scoring not improving early enough. I don't know why it's so hard to understand all of these things need time to improve regardless of what order they fall in. Jalen improved at the things Udoka prioritized first - defense, passing, rebounding. Then he improved at scoring. How else was it going to go? Totally predictable development in an Ime Udoka program. No one is improving their passing, defense, rebounding and scoring in the first month of a season and then maintaining it for a whole season lol. That's a rare occurrence. In fact most people won't improve all those things within 1 season. Jalen needed to improve everything because we f*cked up everyone's development for 2 years. What did Tari, Jabari, Sengun improve in those 2 seasons? All their improvement came under Udoka. The only thing you need to know is everything Udoka told him to improve, he improved. He's coachable and he improves, there's no doubt about that. So whatever Udoka wants from him next, that's going to improve next. Perhaps you are still mad at Silas not developing anyone for two years. Still stuck in the past. Time to get over it.
I thought it was good for Jalen to show up and congratulate his teammate. Even if it was agency driven, still a good move.
a #2 pick to be a 3rd Star on a championship team? The Jalen Green experiment is over…trade Jalen, Dillion, Tate and Uncle Jeff for Paul George
Yeha you're right, the Rockets keep using Jalen to represent the team publicly on things like draft night because the experiment's "over." It's so funny watching y'all confirmation bias yourselves into a separate reality.
Its overi fact since the start of last season, everyone was in the bandwagon with Green for only one month since he was drafted-2024 March Madness. If he wants to stay, he should learn to play structured basketball, not Harlem type street ball.
I’m not sure Jalen Green has ever been to Harlem, nor is Harlem the hotbed for streetballers these days (that would be Southern California). While I’m sure there must be at least some merit to your issues with Green, I dunno if very outdated stereotypes are the way to get your point across…
I'm only talking about the one season under Udoka. The previous two seasons, no one on the entire roster improved and 3 FRP's were dumped. Sengun, Tari and Jabari didn't improve anything under Silas either. That's not a Jalen problem. That's a Rockets problem.
Except his shooting. He's a shooting guard. Is a coach to blame for a player's percentages on hitting deep shots? He hasn't improved his proficiency in 3 years. Anyway, I really hope he finally becomes a consistently high percentage shooter this year and doesn't have another up and down season.
