Pretty nice to hear Stone had him ranked as the top player and not a consolation prize for #3. Interesting that he would have traded out of the draft if Reed was gone. I wonder who they had targeted if they traded out of the draft. Also, I wonder if the Clingan smokescreen fed to gullible Rockets reporters was to get teams off of how highly they viewed Reed.
January: I’ve thought awhile now that Sheppard is by far the best player in the draft and it’s not close. Thought I was taking crazy pills for awhile but it feels good to have a front office that agreed. If no one ever knew what Sheppard looked like and only looked at his statistical profile, athletic profile and impact on winning, he would be viewed as a tier 1 prospect. We got an absolute steal and may have just altered the entire destiny of this franchise, no hyperbole.
There's stuff out there that the Rockets are still trying to trade for a star. If so, that is going to clear some roster space... But if they don't, it shouldn't be that hard to get 10 guys into the rotation for the regular season. Fred was at 37 mins per game last season. Out of the gate that needs to come down to like 32 at the most. Dude was 6th in the league in mpg. Dillon Should also see reduced minutes. He was at 31...He should be at like 27. Then Aquaman probably isn't going to play every night and when he does play it probably won't be heavy minutes...I'm thinkin like 15-20 Max depending on matchups... No Holiday, Tate...Maybe no Jeff Green...
