Hopefully the Lakers or Mavericks trade for Kevin Durant, the Mavericks is perfect for Kevin Durant. They have young players and picks and he fits the Lineup.

Should've been the Brooklyn Nets Harden,Irving, Durant.

    Mavericks Doncic, Irving, Durant

And I think it’s unlikely that Stone and Co didn’t try and extract everything they could from the Nets.

Also it’s pretty clear Tilman wants to be competitive now. Morey didn’t make a bad WB trade but Tilman did.

They have Phoenix picks, additional picks now available beyond 2027, and potential cap space via Simmons contract.

They certainly could have tried again next season as there are “stars” available every year.

They are mediocre but we got lucky with the 3rd pick this draft. Even injured as they were, they were still 9th worst last season.

Right. And the Nets were a very injured team when we lucked into going from 9th to 3rd pick.

Were the new Nets picks from the knicks even tradeable by the nets last night? Maybe Stone has a handshake deal in place for later.

You know like a.... pick to be named later for Tate..wink, wink.

Or maybe that violates the CBA.

if that’s even true… That’s one of the most useless Talking Heads in the business opinion. Now we’re all taking his off the cusp opinion as fact… lol …

But yes, even if that’s true that means that we had even more leverage.

I said this yesterday. I'm pretty sure that the Rockets didn't know about the Knicks trade. The Knicks had a deal only if the Rockets deal went through. It benefits neither team to let the Rockets know the trade was going down. Otherwise the Rockets could leverage a piece of the Knicks/Nets trade and blow the whole thing up.

So basically we settled for a hug when we could have gotten a BJ. Except we could get a BJ in 4-5 years. Better than nothing I guess.

Not when you dangle a BJ in front of me. That’s an extra 3 seconds of intimacy.

It’s two separate deals. Nets couldn’t give us a Knick’s pick that they didn’t have, unless it’s expanded to a 3-team deal. Not sure if Stone was even aware of the Knicks deal.

Let me be quite clear about this. I am NOT dangling a BJ in front of you.

They don’t even have to add a star player. They could just make small “incremental improvements” and have a better record than last season and sneak into the playoffs. They HAVE leverage.

Who would they have added? The reason Bridges was moved was because they couldn't find any players to add around him..Nets admitted this, that was the first domino to fall. The Rockets seemingly bailed them out. Bridges looked checked out end of last season, he and the other Nova Knicks talked about him joining them last season. Bridges was not moved because they got their picks back, that was a separate deal that happened later. Donovan was rumored to maybe be interested but Clev said they are confident in signing him. No one wanted to go to brooklyn, no all star level guy was going there.

Have to agree. Don't think he's a bad person but not a knowledgeable basketball person whatsoever outside of numbers

Who says they have to add star players to get better? They almost made play-in despite the injuries. Wouldn’t take much to be better than that in the weak EC.

Had Stone got greedy, they could have kept Bridges and added a solid role player or two, and still be competitive. Lose-lose.
