I sort of enjoyed job hunting in 2022; I updated and threw my resume and linked in out there and was overwhelmed with the response. *it’s a real estate license. Realtors are a membership-only group of real estate licensed people.
Yeah...I know. I've been reminded of that from my wife. I'm interviewing someone tomorrow to help me cover part of my territory. He's got a resume and a website. Just a different world than the last time I interviewed for a job just 10 years ago. I had a resume and my LinkedIn page and that was it. It was dandorotik...but he's not here anymore.
I don’t think so unless you need to showcase a portfolio of work somehow. LinkedIn is the expectation in most professional fields. ******* Here’s an article on a guy who has a min/max system of resumes and job hunting. https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-write-big-tech-resume-google-meta-product-manager-2024-6
In about 10-15 years.... You won't be able to get a white collar job because AI has replaced you. You won't be able to get a physical labor job because of the millions of illegal aliens and their offspring (who will be naturally-born citizens) that you will be competing against (and they'll work for lower wages). Inflation and prices will have skyrocketed out of control. So, you won't be able to buy anything. You won't have a job. Availability of products and services will be poor because companies had to close due to poor sales, and Americans will be clamoring to buy older, used things and fix them up for as little cost as possible. We are already beginning to see these three things take affect right now, but we won't feel the true pain of these issues for about 10 - 15 years, once AI has improved and once the offspring of the illegal aliens have grown to be teenagers.
I've been told by several younger friends that if you don't have a couple of social media accounts that potential employers can look through it's pretty much an immediate "no hire". I remember handing out paper resumes.
