Hit the nail on the head. Look how Sheppard intentionally puts his arm above Mitchell's, pushing him down slightly and raising up his own shoulders up to pretend to be taller. This is as fraudulent as his 42" alligator arm vertical. Not to mention his abnormally short but girthy sausage hands, just creepy and weird. No wonder that Kelly Iko didn't have a clear report on how his workout went, I'm sure that during his daily luncheon with Rafael, Stone probably went on a 30 minute rant about Sheppard's handshake, and Iko had no idea what to actually say/write about how the Rocket actually felt. Rockets should want someone of high character on this team, not someone too focused on off-the-court pursuits. When my future PG is visiting New York City, all I want them to be doing is working out until the wee hours of the night, then heading back to their hotel room and engaging in thoughtful and respectful discourse with their long term partner.
Of the players that played 400+ minutes... Aaron Holiday connects on 2 more 3's = 40% on the season FVV connects on 10 more 3's = 40% on the season Bari connects on 14 more 3's = 40% on the season Tari (limited minutes & 3's) connects on 7 more 3's = 50% on the season :eyes emoji: Villain connects on 15 more 3's = 40% on the season Cam connects on 9 more 3's = 40% on the season Uncle Jeff connects on 11 more 3's = 40% on the season Sengawd connects on 12 more 3's = 40% on the season (limited # of 3's taken) Add them up and that's 80 more made 3's and that's over half them team shooting over 40% from 3 82 games in a season... I know my math is probably off, but if we make 1 more 3 pointer per game = most of the team shooting over 40% (there's a reason I avoided math after HS). Collectively whole team would need to hit 143 more 3's to shoot over 40% Almost every team that shot over 36% on 3's made the playoffs (OKC .389 / BOS .388 - Orlando only .352 same as Rox) For those interested.... Thrilla / Jalen would need to connect on 40 more 3's = 40% on the season (maybe just keep attacking the rim, young fella) To be fair, Jalen hits 20 more 3's and he is at a respectable 36%. Amen - yeah. Stay in the lab, youngin. (15 more made 3's = 40%, but he had a limited # of attempts) Landale connects on 6 more 3's = 40% on the season (limited # of 3's taken) Reggie Bullock actually hit over 40% of his 3's My point? Keep the defensive effort & everybody make 2 more 3's per game with same # of attempts. Sheppard could help with that. IJS Also Rox need to hit more FT's (#5 in attempts, #9 in makes)... Reed is d@mn near automatic. Rox were #1 last year at opposing team's 3 point %. Can Reed guard the perimeter? If so....
Some more fun facts: The best offensive team last season was Boston. They are head and shoulder above everybody. The 3rd best offense was OKC. The Kings were 14th. The difference between #3 and #14 was 2.75 points per 100 possessions. (100 possessions is about average per game.) So, if the Kings hit one more 3pt shot per game, they'd be #3 rather than #14. Only 9 teams had a net point difference of >+3. 10 teams had btween 0 and +3. That means, if these 10 teams made 1 less 3pt shot per game, they'd go from positive to negative. And point differential is one of the most accurate predictor of W-L records.
KD? I take it back. All of it. Tilman doesn't have the stomach for a slow and steady rebuild. Let's hope this pays off.
Nobody called young best shooter, he just had range. What people missed about Young is he's a great passer
Reed compares to none of those guys because all those guys had a handle or was 6'6. That's what I've said from jump that if you're a shooter drafted top 5, you better have a handle to create space. Al those guys you listed played in the 80s except Steph and Ray. You see Reed anywhere close to those guys? I mean he scored 3 pts vs Oakland. Curry packed Davidson in the tournament
Theres no proof of that. Also bringing in KD would be pointless unless Tilman is prepared to be the league highest lux tax payer.
We'd have to dump some salary to trade for him, though. I hope this was only about the picks and not about trying to get KD from the Suns. Bad move, IMO.
Hopefully the shenanigans from yesterday evening have no impact on them drafting Sheppard later today. The kid needs to be a Rocket!
Does the trade last night have any implications on the draft strategy? Feigan says no but it’s tempting to think that now compared to yesterday morning they have a less urgency to trade down and gather more premium assets? Would they now more willing to stand pat and draft Reed?
