This is alot of what I've been saying. Because of Sengun's inability to spread the court it's hindering the offense. As I said previously, the Rockets have become antiquated. Playing for 2's through Sengun, rather than 3's. I don't know of any other team in the NBA who is playing through a center who can not spread the court. Both Embiid and Jokic can play inside and outside. Sengun at this point in his career is strickly 15ft and in.
I don't know if you trade Sengun just yet or if ever but the Rocket's offense has to change. Going through Sengun is not the long term answer. However, if the Pacers can trade a young All-Star in Sabonis, who I compare favorably to Sengun, well, the Rockets can trade him if he is slowing down the offense.
It's not Sengun's fault that Jalen shot 27% on wide open threes for most of the season. Give Sheppard these same wide open threes, and we have several more wins.
My baby is back Still think we will have to decide between Amen and Sengun and surround with shooters Can have to point forward/center who can’t shoot on the court. I choose the over sized player with ELITE defense and rebounding at their position. I also think Amen needs that paint open to be point
On the spacing: 2/3 of NBA starting Centers don't stretch. This is why stretching center... even in the current modern NBA is a premium. If you trade Sengun for someone; is that a center who do stretch? The Porzingis, Chet, Wemby, Embid are more of a luxury. Last year for example Chet stretched, while nice, it was to counter balance the two non-3pt shooters in SGA and Giddey. SGA is their engine. Giddey as a guard/forward, is more easily replaceable for a shooter (Caruso). If Sengun do other things well, it's much easier to replace a guard/wing who can space than a center. A shooting guard/wing are more abundant. Solve the non shooting in guard/wings/PF first, then maybe move to the center; it's usually last position to fix... because he is a CENTER.
Sengun can't open the floor space up because he doesn't have a 3....... Sengun is not good at D against under 7 ft players much less against someone like Wemby............... Sengun either is telegraphic that it's his possession and then is forced to give the ball up......sometimes it's great passes but when he doesn't have one.....he is stuck....... Sometimes to me he seems like a blackhole.....dude just because they passed you the ball doesn't mean you have to make something happen on your own....... Great passing skills many times.....but doesn't mean he should be running the offense......... I see a lot of plusses and minuses in him....the same with Sheppard....... I say let the two time collegiate champion Clingan at a shot to develop and become a 3pt shooter........ If Sengun hasn't developed a 3 point shot in year 4 early in the season...........start him at PF and see what happens.....and then trade him and give Bari his spot back and monitor his development......... We only have so much money to give Max contracts......the Rockets need to make sure they do their due diligence...... At this point Green hasn't warranted a MAX contract either...........give him a shot at first and then try to trade him, if you can't bench him for Whitmore and let him walk......hopefully Green's agent won't let that happen, find him a new setting, and then the Rockets get something out of it at least.............
But it would be a championship that would be remembered for decades to come. With possibly more to come afterwards.
Hailburton is not a scoring wing. And this was the first year since the trade that the Pacers “won” Also, Alp is better than Sabonis, by a lot at the same stage in their careers. And has much higher upside
Well it won't all be on Jalen this upcoming season if Sengun is gone. Jalen would be the cherry on top. As I mentioned before we will have a better shooting CamBron. A Jabari with more guts. A much better defense around them with better rebounding. That in itself adds about 8-10+ more wins, imo.
